You are correct. libusb1.0 uses integers. We'll use integers.

Hi Paul,
if it *really* is more platform independent, then go ahead with the
"003" literals ...
however, from DBus i get thos numbers as integers ... and i dont see a
point why it would make sense to have them as strings ... what is "more
recents libusb's" behaviour in this regard ?!?!
however
I want to present a design issue for discussion about the USB adapters.
We currently have 3 modes of specifying the USB adpter to use:
-u (which gets the first one)
-u 3 (which gets the 3rd one)
-uall (which gets all)
Marcus wants to add an additional
-u 1:3 which would get the adapter listed b
Hi Paul,
i did another test with two 2490 adapters ... i get the following when
both adapters are connected :
open...@openwis-desktop:~$ lshal | grep ^udi | grep 2490
udi = '/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_4fa_2490_noserial_0'
udi = '/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_4fa_2490_noser
Hi Paul,
thanks for playing around ;)

It might depending on whether I'd want to run owfs directly on one or
owserver on another one.

Playing with an adapter:
OWFS:
bus.0/interface/settings/address = "005/040"
lshal:
udi= 'org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_4fa_2490_noserial'
usb.device.bus_number = 5
usb.device.linux.device.number = 40
lsusb:
Bus 005 Device 040: ID 04fa:2490 Dallas Semiconductor DS1490F 2-in-1
