Report Buider - positioning fields in group headers

CHM - Yes, that was my gut feeling over the past few years, and it was nice to find it officially sanctioned. In probing some of these areas in my haphazard way, I did discover a really nice video on the (preview) Help Viewer 1.1, to come with the SP1 for VS2010. http://blogs.msdn.com/b/thehelp

Here is the real authority (not that faux Wikipedia source) [cut] Indeed, that's a nice summary and it makes it clear that in my case that I should stick with CHM files. I just have to find the right tools for the job. I've never used Visual Studio or Expression Web simply for writing HTML files,

MAML passed into history with "Longhorn". I think the XML schemas morphed into (or were rejected and replaced by) the Office file formats for Word, Excel, etc with their ZIP packaging, and Help got marooned on the way. Probably not relevant to what's happened in Word formats and Help formats, but

Oh drats! It's as bad as my expectations. We seem to be in help limbo. I have so many SDKs installed that if I put another one in just to fiddle with some new beta help format I think my hard drive will collapse into a black hole. And lord knows how much more of my time another kit will waste.

Refreshing my memory by a search or 3, the HelpWare group website is at http://helpware.net/ and there are 3 or 4 helpful blogs you can reach from there. The help migration kit and FAR seem to be the best available tools. MS Help 3 is still extant (not extinct), from what I can see. _

I still use CHM format, and PDF. I used to use HDK years ago, but never kept up with its evolution (or did it die?). But a new Microsoft help authoring system is a long time in coming. With VS2010, a new help system and Help Viewer was released, and accompanying its production was the SDK - see h
