Totally agree! Let's leave this one alone for a while. We have done the abortion and religion debates enough so let's move back to the actual subject matter for this list.
Also, can we keep in mind the original posting was information spreading and those not interested could have just left it alone...just like others do when there is something that is of little interested in. I know some might argue that I jump on the topics I am passionate about (cs and vbac) but politics outside the context of birthing/maternity is really not the most appropriate topic for this forum. Hey! You could get me going about Bush being re-elected but I won't go there! Now THAT would be something I could get really passionate about!!! Ha ha!!!
With love and respect to ALL on this list Jo

I agree with you Nicole, however, I believe this topic was discussed on the list not that long ago and became quite heated. This is a subject on which some people have very strong views. I believe this is not the most appropriate forum to discuss it, and before anyone gets hurt/offended again, feel that we should not post anymore on the subject. What do others think? I don't support abortion but I don't believe that I should be makingthatwasdecision for other people. I use to work in a unit were we did many terminations for many reasons and 80% were for fetal abnormality thatnot compatable with life. Do we force these women to go to term withthesebabies because they are still living at the time of the termination.Idon't think women make these choices lightly. I would hate to seewomenslives lost because we stopped women from having safe terminations andtheyhad to start to do there own back yard jobs. Which would be worse?Thefetus may be a life but so is the woman, a choice has to be made. Iworkedwith psyc patients who where cutting them selves up trying to get thebabyout, what do we do with these women. I wish the answer was as clearcut asthingsthe baby has rights and its a life but there is more to it.
Lets hope we don't become a society where we are forced to go throughyouagainst our own wishes. God help the woman who are rapped and falls pregnant, 9 months is a long time to be continually reminded of whatthesewere put through.
Just one other thing, who is going to care for all of these children, lives when the country can't cope with the ones it has now. I wonderhowmany people would adopt extra children just so they could live. Andthereis definatly not 120000 babies needed for adoption, do we go back toputingchildren in institutions again because there not wanted, how sad. Wecan'teven house all of our aging population imagin if we add 120000children toRightthat.
