Thanks for this inspiring story Justine, I have no desire to dampen anyone's spirits about the amazing possibility of twin homebirth. I know that would be my choice if I was to be facing a twin pregnancy. As a midwife, I am now torn between the great probability that everything will go swimmingly, as it usually does, and the reality, for me that twice, it has not. As my colleague and I approach the anniversary of one of these births, and can only celebrate the birthday of one twin, it is a very real sadness I feel. Stories like this alleviate some of the pain, and the doubt that has crept into my practice.
