A couple of years ago I was with 2 women within days of each
other who gave birth with their babies' face presenting. I hadn't seen one for
ages and then 2 in succession. The first one was her first baby and she was
standing up. We were in the Birthing Centre and I consulted with the Registrar
who just Said see how you go and asked permission if he could be present and the
woman agreed. She gave birth beautifully, standing up and taught both
myself and the registrar something as most births do. The second one, a few
nights later, was the woman's second baby and she insisted on sitting on the bed
and looked down to see her baby's face in her vagina and said "that looks
weird"!! As this baby had moved down quickly there was no bruising just a
gorgeous face making faces back at us as we waited for the next contraction and
he came flying out.
