Does anyone know the ETA on a VHD for SP2010? I heard early in Dec that they
expected it out in around 5 weeks or so.

Not quite sure what you're trying to achieve Daniel. Did you want to prevent
users (with appropriate permission) from filtering on certain columns?

Pretty much.
For example, A contact list with filters... I have no need to filter by street,
phone number, etc, buit mainly on state. Thus remove the 'Street' filter
dropdown list.
Simple way to do this was to find the html block for the dvt.filterfield
template and remove them individual.
View source on the page and send through the block.
You could easily write some JQuery to remove the items from the list that
you don't want - or use some highly specific CSS to apply a display:none
style to the element in question.
I can help you with the JQuery if you like, just need the HTML
