Farm account should only be admin for provisioning ups, therefore you shouldn't
be able to login to the server as the farm account.
I usually have a admin acc which is used for installs etc.

Agreed but this is a dev box so I'm not overly concerned. My main issue was
the errors above which seem to have disappeared since the upgrade. Fingers
crossed.
