GStreamer allows for easy multimedia processing and creation of multimedia applications, as e.g. demonstrated by a number of players and some other applications already built on it. The purpose here is to concentrate on using the framework for transcoding purposes. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update Information: This update brings a number of important bug fixes and enhancements, notably the addition of the enplayer-1.0 command, a plain but versatile media player designed as a supplementary tool for transcoding. In order to avoid conflicts with other software, the GStreamer elements and plugins provided by GEntrans have all been renamed in this update (with the standard prefix of "entrans").
