einsetzen.

rpmbuild --rebuild dboxfe-0.1.3-200.pm.svn20070916.src.rpm

gstreamer010-schroedinger-0.6.1-0.pm.2.i586.rpm

so the problem is, you have gstreamer010-0.10.3 installed and this version
conflicts. You should install all gstreamer010 packages from packman and
don't mix them up with the SuSE ones. As long as a package nails the
gstream010-0.10.3 from SuSE on your system you can't install the packman
package, because all packman packages needs as base the
gstreamer010-0.10.14 ...

The second point: the gstreamer010-plugins-good package from SuSE has a higher
release number than mine:
gstreamer010-plugins-good-0.10.6-0.pm.3.i586.rpm  == packman
gstreamer010-plugins-good-0.10.6-41.i586  == SUSE
it seems that zypper wants to install the newest on, and the decision is
based on ther version-release-number. 0.10.6-41 beats always
0.10.6-0.pm.1 ...

as I don't use zypper nor YaST I cann't advice you how to handle this. With
smart you could do a install if you choose exactly the packages you want.

 Cheers!

   Severity: Minor

  Component: Packman Repository

Packman Cg package provides Cg, OBS home:/Milliams Cg package provides
 Cg.
but Non-OSS openSUSE package provides cg.

I have not found big problems caused by this, just that I'm unable to
 use the
Non-OSS package with Packman games. But we need some standardization, all
 packages should be the same.

every package is signed by the packagers key. And installation of the
packman-rpmkey package is NOT sufficient. See our FAQ. You have to import
those keys to your rpm-database or answer the question with Yes, and all
packages signed with my key will be accepted.

And yes you can trust my package :)

The above GPG key has been imported successfully.
It is required to install this package:

   vdrift-full-data-20070323-0.pm.1.noarch.rpm

Do you want to trust this key forever?

You must verify the below fingerprint before answering.

Off course I trust packman and it's packager's However I intend to sell
computers bundled with openSUSE in the Netherlands therefor I must be
100% sure of what I am offering.

Last question; how do I verify if this key is indeed from a packman
 packager?
look at:
http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Check_the_validity_of_a_SUSE_RPM_or_ISO_file

all gpg-keys from packman-team are available on the most (all) key-servers. So
you can check those keys easy. All our keys are provided in a packman-key
package. If you have installed those keys, your package-manager checks every
package against the known keys. But make sure this feature is activates.

you can check my key here:

the gst-fluendo-mp3 pakage contains the same files as my
gstreamer010-fluende-mp3. So how could you install both without any error
  message ?

Normally every package-installer would complain about file conflicts in
those two packages. So you must have ignored or forced it .. as a result
none of the needed fiels are installed.

The name gst-fluendo-mp3 is very strange in my opinion :)
And the version number is alos very strange ...
  if you look here:
  http://core.fluendo.com/gstreamer/src/gst-fluendo-mp3
you find as newest the 0.10.6 and this is the content of my package. The
content of the openSUSE package has no relationship to a existing version
of those tar-balls provided by fluendo. So I don't know which one is
  newer or better ...

I would choose the packman package :)

So delete gst-fluendo-mp3 AND gstreamer010-fluendo-mp3 and install only
  ONE of those packages.

Thanks! I have done that, and I still cannot get Banshee+mp3 file to work.

When launching Banshee from a command line, I get this:

if I look at your installed gstreamer010-* packages, I would propose as a
first step to update them to the newest available packages.

e.g. gstreamer010-plugins-ugly is available as 0.10.6 and you have 0.10.5
installed. I don't know which installer you use, but check all gstreamer010
packman-packages and update them.

you could also try another player to check if it is a banshee related problem.
exaile, elisa or christine use all gstreamer010 as backend. If they are able
to play mp3, you can be sure it's a banshee problem.
Try christine first, it's a lightweight player.

all packages available via packman :)

Hugh, I'm not allowed to install christine surprisingly (it does not
resolve all dependencies, and Yast-Gtk cannot tell me which ones... :( ).
oops, christine has only small dependencies:
Requires: gstreamer010
Requires: gstreamer010-plugins-base
Requires: gstreamer010-plugins-base-oil
Requires: gstreamer010-plugins-good

or
rpm -Uhv christine-0.1.1-0.pm.1.i586.rpm

If I try to install elisa, it warns me about needing
gstreamer010-plugins-bad (changing the vendor or not installing elisa).
After choosing to change the vendor, it tells me I have to uninstall:

 gstreamer010-devel
 gstreamer010-plugins-good
 gstreamer010-plugins-ugly
 gstreamer010-fluendo-mpegmux
 gstreamer010-fluendo-mpegdemux
 gstreamer010-plugins-base
 gstreamer010-fluendo-mp3
 gstreamer010-ffmpeg

simply spoken: all those packages are available in the SuSE-repositories

Please use your package-manager (YaST, zypper, smart, apt, ...) to install

ja, es fehlt ein requires: gconf2
das Paket gconf2 beinhaltet das gesuchte Programm gconftool-2. Viele

# oc2pus-packages

ändern zu:

# oc2pus-packages
myClassPath3=`build-classpath h2 swt-gtk swtcalendar mckoidb`

 Hi,

upgrading from SuSE 10.3 installed pulseaudio 0.9.6 to PM pulseaudio 0.9.8
fails because the package layout of the PM packages is different than the
SuSE layout and some SuSE provided tools require the SuSE package which
apparently is not covered by an obsoletes clause in the corresponding PM
 package:

file /usr/lib/libpulse.so.0 from install of libpulse0-0.9.8-0.pm.1

 file /usr/lib/libpulse-browse.so.0 from install of
libpulse-browse0-0.9.8-0.pm.1 conflicts with file from package

Can you please fix the PM pulseaudio packages to cleanly install ?
no, I won't.

And for your information, these pulseaudio packages in the build-server

please check libmms, this error has been appeared after the last libmms

you must fix your sources, the errors belong all to uint64_t, uint32_t ...
so there is a include missing for those types.

there is the same error building the package on my pc
this is obvious, if it doesn't work on pmbs, why should it work on your PC :)

Am Samstag, 29. Dezember 2007 schrieb Stefan Tittel:
 Hi!

The SMART package manager has a nice feature, which shows dependency
problems even for uninstalled packages (Edit-Check All Packages). On
my system only the official SUSE repositories and Packman are active and
using this feature shows a lot of Packman packages having unresolvable
dependencies. For some of the packages I checked myself if SMART is right
about it and it seems like SMART really has a point with what it's saying:

Unsatisfied dependency: [EMAIL PROTECTED] requires tetex
Unsatisfied dependency: [EMAIL PROTECTED] requires te_latex
this is correct, it requires really tetex to work:)
Unsatisfied dependency: [EMAIL PROTECTED] requires libx264.so.54
is in work, we've updated x264

Unsatisfied dependency: [EMAIL PROTECTED] requires libTMCG.so.1
yes, alos correct

 Unsatisfied dependency: [EMAIL PROTECTED] requires
 SuperCollider
yes, it requires SuperCollider. it is a Frontendfor it ...

 Unsatisfied dependency: [EMAIL PROTECTED] requires

 requires libavogadro = 0.2.0
Unsatisfied dependency: [EMAIL PROTECTED] requires libbtcore = 0.2.0
Unsatisfied dependency: [EMAIL PROTECTED] requires CsoundVST
 Unsatisfied dependency: [EMAIL PROTECTED] requires
 libx264.so.54
is in work, we've updated x264

Unsatisfied dependency: [EMAIL PROTECTED] requires portmidi
yes, its true it requires package portmidi

 Unsatisfied dependency: [EMAIL PROTECTED] requires
libbzip2-devel Unsatisfied dependency: [EMAIL PROTECTED] requires
python-ncurses Unsatisfied dependency: [EMAIL PROTECTED] requires
 python-elementtree Unsatisfied dependency:
 [EMAIL PROTECTED] requires fox16 = 2.1.0-0.pm.14
his is correct as fox16 is a virtual package for a possible fox-replacement

 Unsatisfied dependency: [EMAIL PROTECTED] requires
 libogmrip = 0.11.2
every devel package needs the corresponding shared lib ...

just to give some samples ...
snip

From what I see a real lot of Packman packages seem to be broken (in the
sense that they can't be installed/upgraded because of unresolved
dependencies). To me it seems like a good idea if packagers could use this
SMART feature as a basic QA measure to minimize package breakage in the
 future.
h3h3, ok, so you believe in this feature, I don't ... and it is not an
indicator for broken packages, see my comments from above. And I won't
comment all of them... just to give you an idea.

Thanks in advance for fixing these problems and a happy New Year to all of
 you!

what packages have you installed, please name the package-names and versions.

I guess you miss one of the synth-packages e.g. bristol-hammond or
bristol-arp2600.

Next Question, what happens if you start bristol with one of the

Those entries call the startbristol wrapper script with some extra parameters
like -jack

When I run any of the bristol synths
 (for example startBristol -2600)
I get an empty window where the synth interface should be.

The terminal (konsole) I am running the program from reports the
 following error numerous times
   failed to allocate image

I also tried the .586 rpms with the same result. Then I built the
program myself, no errors were reported by ./configure or make but
I still get the same error when running the program.

I googled around a bit and did find a few references to this problem
but none with a solution that worked for me.

I'm just wondering if these builds actually work for anyone else on
suse 10.3 and if so what I might do to get it working on my machine
works fine here :)

Perhaps a alsa/jack setup problem on your machine ?

Thanks for your help and for the service you provide

Glad to hear that it works somewhere. I'm guessing that it has
something to do with the nvidia propietary driver or maybe xorg.

 xorg 7.2-135.4

ok, it seems to be a 64bit related problem in addition with xorg:

From what I can tell, this seems to be due to an issue that has been
flagged in a couple of mailing lists with X11 relating to the XCreateImage
function which has now been patched,

So I cann't help you any further. Perhaps follow the above thread and/or write
to the author of bristol. Perhaps hi can find a workaround.

I can send the output from my konsole if you want but the main thing
seems to be the failed to allocate image message.

I'll stay in the actual Azureus versions. They have more features and are

A second reason: I won't build the swt libs for two different Azureus

Normalerweise sollte jedes *-devel Paket alle Pakete anziehen welche vom
Basispaket als BuildRequires gebraucht werden. Man kann das sogar noch weiter
vereinfachen wenn man diese Konstruktion nutzt:
%package devel
Requires:   %{buildrequires}

Bugzilla Antworten laufen auf: won't fix, as this versions are no longer
updated.

daran.

I can send you the spec file and you can tweak it for other rpm-based

Anotherthing to keep in mind: if people are downloading a single package, they

I'm glad if you can, in near future, port another version of my game

[packman] Re: [PM] jackdmp 0.70 (openSUSE 10.3/i586)

2008-05-01 Diskussionsfäden Toni
Am Donnerstag, 1. Mai 2008 schrieb Ursula Lewis:
 Dear Toni

Please can you compile a openSUSE 11.0 package x586 of jackdmp?
yes, I will. It simply takes some time to create all the packages for
openSuSE-11.0. And all the packages will be available as the 11.0 is rolled
out. For the moment we have to do a lot of patching and adjustment on the
packages as the new openSuSE version uses a brandnew compiler and a lot of
programs failed to compile.

 Many thanks, Simon

PS: Any chance of adding JOST to the packman repo?
url ?
and to answer your next question: No, in the packman repo I will never publish
any package using VST technologies. And I also won't provide packages to make
windows programs running on linux. I like linux and won't help to integrate
windows programs or drivers to linux.

the gstreamer packages where renamed in openSuSE-10.3 to follow the new names

So do a smart update before and it should work as expected.

Thanks for your time, it's been a while since I wanted to try this game

it seems you are missing one of those depnedencies:
Requires: cel = 1.2

Requires: crystalspace = 1.2
Requires: python-crystalspace = 1.2

so please check if you have installed cel and CELStart. I guess not, as you
have forced the package with --nodeps.

Another possibility to check where the files from cel and CELStart are
located, if they are in /usr/lib instead of /usr/lib64 thats a possible
reason that the cel-plugins are not found.

If so check the celstart.cfg file (in /usr/share/games/outlaws) for the wrong
library path.

as I told you already:
normally this plugin is installed in /usr/share/mlt/modules/libmltavformat.so
so do a check if this file exists.
== find /usr -name libmltavformat.so

and this module is part of the package mlt:
== rpm -ql mlt | grep avformat
should prompt:
/usr/share/mlt/modules/libmltavformat.so

the missing symbols av_free_static are from ffmpeg, so the question is:
did you install libffmpeg0 and/ffmpeg from packman or from videolan ?
== rpm -qa | grep ffmpeg
should result in:
libffmpeg0-0.4.9-10.pm.svn20080512
ffmpeg-0.4.9-10.pm.svn20080512

so your ffmpeg version is not from packman ...
and it seems your installation of the package mlt is borked, so do a
reinstall. The module is part of this package...

*-debuginfo, *-debugsource seems to be a error in %debug_package macro, if a
package contains subpackages with different versions (like wired contains a
portaudio20-20 subpackage, fox16 contains several subpackages), so I don't
know how to fix this.

the ruby-gnome2, ruby-libglade2 packages are available in another repo: for
SuSE= 10.3, I guess they will be available soon for openSuSE-11.0 too. Those
subpackages where builded but not needed for the other packman packages :)

libgpod (Pascal), vobcopy (Manfred), pd (Olli), mpeg2dec (Rainer) are not
builded for openSuSE from their packagers, I expect they will be available
soon :)
And remember: openSuSE-11.0 is availbale now for a week !

the missing lib for ldrum: can you call the same command on SuSE-10.3 ?
the spec is the same, only a new gcc43 patch was added, so this is a really
issue to investigate further.

Anyway, thx for reporting those missing dependencies!

Re: [packman] [PM] kdenlive 0.6.0 (openSUSE 10.3/i586) and [PM] ffmpeg 0.4.9 (openSUSE 10.3/i586)

Am Sonntag, 29. Juni 2008 schrieb Lee Matheson:
kdelive crashes with the last two updates to libffmpeg.

Precise upon error upon starting is:
 failed to load pugin: /usr/share/mlt/modules/libmltavformat:so:
 undefined symbol: av_free_static

I have this crash behaviour on both my 10.3 and 11.0 opensuse (32-bit)
PCs. Versions I have (same on both PCs) are:
 * kdenlive-0.6.0-1791.pm.svn20080105
 * mlt++-0.2.2-0.pm.8
 * mlt-0.2.4-0.pm.3
 * libffmpeg0-0.4.9.11.pm.svn20080617

The last version of libffmpeg0 that worked with kdenlive is:
 libffmpeg0-0.4.9-10.pm.svn20080512.i686.

My investigations (after discovering the problem) suggest the following
 two updates:
 libffmpeg0-0.4.9-10.pm.svn20080617.i686
 and
 libffmpeg0-0.4.9-11.pm.svn20080617.i686
both do break kdenlive on openSUSE-10.3.

I have kdenlive working again on my openSUSE-10.3 PC by reverting back
to that older libffmpeg version. However I do not have such an older
libffmpeg version for openSUSE-11.0, so it remains broken with kdenlive.

Please, could you look into this, confirm my preliminary assessment, and
possible update either libffmpeg0, or kdenlive, as appropriate?
yes, I can confirm your error.

The bad-boy is the package mlt, it calls av_free_static once. Therefore the
compiler doesn't complain an error as it is declared in the ffmpeg headers as
deprecated. but the new ffmpeg libs doesn't provide this function any longer.
So I commented out this single call and did a rebuild of mlt. To be sure that
no side-effects jump in, I released also the mlt++ and kdenlive packages as a
simple rebuild.

I know that there are newer sources of kdenlive are available, but lets first
fix this issue :)

So please try mlt-0.2.4 (0.pm.4) and mlt++-0.2.2 (0.pm.9) and new kdenlive-0.6
(1791.pm.svn20080105_2) and give me a short note if it works for you.

Thank you, and many many many thanks for your continued work in
packaging these GREAT multimedia apps for openSUSE.
your welcome and thx for reporting this error including the main
informations.

 Thanks Toni,

 mlt-0.2.4-0.pm.4
 mlt++-0.2.2-0.pm.9
 libffmpeg0-0.4.9-11.pm.svn20080617

I then ran kdelive on both openSUSE version 10.3 (KDE-3.5.7) and 11.0
(KDE-3.5.9), and it started fine. It appears fixed.
uff :)

I've asked other's who noticed this error (on
http://forums.opensuse.org) to test their kdelive for any other possible
 affects.
thats fine, I had also some other people with this problem and from the
feedback of them I guess my patch seems to work.

Nethertheless please check if kdenlive is now consuming memory (I know you are
a hard core user of this program ...).
Because the call for av_free_static should return some memory to the system.
In the actual svn sources this call is also disabled in the same manner I did
it. But just to be sure that we don't get of the fire into the frying pan.

Once again, many many thanks for your quick turn around and a very
timely fix. I typically spend a lot of time in front of my PC running
kdenlive, so its an app that is 'dear to my heart'.
you're welcome.

I'll rethink the logic to avoid this for the next release.

simply delete your ~/.sauerbraten and call the sauerbraten.sh again, than the

  with ==)

Ok, I'll try to remove one, and if it still doesn't work, I'll reinstall
it and remove the other one, and report you back.

I uninstalled the 10.19 one and still mp3 playback doesn't work. When
trying to remove the 10.20 one and keep 10.19, I was warned by my
package manager that the action would downgrade a lot of gstreamer
packages. I guess I'll have to try that anyway right?

call your application within a console and look for (error-)messages.

Yes, that was what I did for Banshee and I only got:

[Error 12:48:38.277] GStreamer stream error: Failed

I didn't test with Totem so, now that I test, I see that there's no
error at all in the console. Any other gstreamer media player I could
  test?

christine is a simple fat-free player, you can find it also in the

  I'll try that.

I installed it and I cannot run it. Output error in the console is:

so this shows that you have a mixture of gstreamer packages. I advice you to
install only the original SuSE versions or only the packman versions.

 Ideas?
For mp3 playing you need the gstreamer-0_10-fluendo-* packages. Check also
that the gstreamer-0-10-ffmpeg package is installed.

a simple rpm -ql or a webpin playbin shows you that it is part of the package.

I guess you must call the configure of totem with some options
(./configure --help is your friend)
Perhaps you look at our totem-src.rpm to see how to configure it properly.

And the configure messages are often misleading, so look at the file
config.log what's really going wrong. The message printed is often hardcoded
and don't explain the real reason of the failure. In the most parts you're
simply mising a devel package and the generated test-programm in the
configure process can't be linked.

I'll contribute a patch to totem's configure.in file to check for this.

Am Donnerstag, 11. September 2008 schrieb Andrés G. Aragoneses:
BTW, now I have the problem fixed, although I would like to contribute
something upstream in order to avoid the same problem for people in the
 future.
Fine!

 I discovered the issue because:

 - To remind you: christine was working perfectly when playing MP3, but
 totem and Banshee not.
 - I contacted christine-devel list, and they gave me some hints. It
turns out christine allows you to select the audiosink used when using
gstreamer. It was configured by default to use autoaudiosink. Changing
it to alsasink or esdsink didn't change anything (it still worked), but
changing it to gconfaudiosink it made it crash (remember: totem didn't
crash but played no sound, although the pretty music visualization
worked; and Banshee didn't worked, it jumped to the next song).
 - I looked for more info on audiosinks and found this bug which had very
 useful information:
 http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=230419
 - This made me discover that my problems get fixed when going to Gnome
Control Center - System - Sound, and selecting there Autodetect
 instead of Default (Custom).

 So my questions are:
 a) We should have a way to detect this situation in all the players,
 right? Is this feasible?
the most programs have configure options, and as long a human can fiddle
around here, those errors jump up.

 b) We should change the default setting of distros to be Autodetect
 instead of Default (Custom), right?
yes, but as programs are installed system-wide it is the users responsibility
to configure the programs correctly. We as packagers, tweak/modify only
the master config files (going to /etc) to match the distibution specific
parts.
Otherwise we would need wrapper scripts for all those programs to check the
actual configuration files and try to modify them. And I think, if we would
do so, we have a lot of trouble with other users because we tweak their
setups.
A possible solution could be: if you send me over your local config-files I
could package it as a additional doc into the packman packages (e.g.
openSuSE-sample-config-christine etc ...). A better option: upstream should
add it to there tar-balls.

 c) Anyway, I guess that my problem with Default (Custom) is still a
bug, right? But where is the bug?:
 * Packman packaging?
 * GStreamer?
 * Pulseaudio/alsa/...?
 * All the players?
 * Other?
you should post your experience in the related wikis and/or
user-documentations of those programs. If this behaviour is documented it
could be solved easy for others users (if they read the docs ...)

What do you think about a) and b)? Should we open bugs for them? And how
can I debug the c) issue?
As I don't use a gnome desktop I can't help you here. You're right: a program
should not segfault with a wrong setup. So the authors should improve the
programs to avoid such crashes. But a author can't test all possible
configurations, so the users must jump in and deliver bug-reports etc (like
you did already). IMHO this is the only possibility to improve those
programs.

 Thanks,

an.

 Vielen Dank schonmal

 Peter aus Bayern

There is a problem now with elisa. I got a blanc screen.

there are also some problems with the dependencies from packman packages
and DirectFB 1.2.3-2.1 from tghe games repo
 http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/games/openSUSE_11.0/

does you guys get this fixed?
No, we build only against the original SuSE packages and/or our packman
packages.

 see attachment

 mplayer
 elisa (all packages)
 gtreamer-bad
 libxine-directfb
 kde4-mplayertumbs
 pytube
 audiokonverter
 acetoneiso
 smile
 mplayer-plugins

I have not updated DirectFB but i like to. It is needed for my games!

 thanks

Just a heads-up that Swfdec was updated last week.

A new stable release of Swfdec is out: Swfdec 0.8.0.

can't be build on openSuSE. It needs libraires which are not available for
SuSE at the moment. If we would provide those libs, we need to upgrade nearly
the whole distribution.

So perhaps a new package will be published in the next openSuSE version.

 Thanks,

 Hallo Toni

 Besten Dank
