No. You can scheme up some things to make it exceedingly unlikely for
two palms to produce the same ID, but there is no 100% absolute guarantee.

call it Hardware ID, I don't know what you might call it, and acctually I
don't care.
My problem is, that I have to find this number to write it into a TextField.

It can't in all cases. You happen to have a FLASHable device where the serial
number in the FLASH memory

ROM-Serial-Number of the unit.

but if you just need a "number" for identiying a Palm device (a Palm Inc.
device) the ROMToken is ok (except for commercial stuff like buy stuff or
stock trading). For the person who posted the question, the ROMToken is fine.
