[PAYCO] Re: RE: RE: Making The PAC more relevant
Comrade Mfundisi There is no research undertaken that creates an impression PAC losses election because of the land issue. Cde Phillip has cut and paste Census 2011 household statistics, and Census 2011 says nothing about PAC. Those are Census 2011 are demographics subject to individual intepretation. Peruse those statistics and cite which section argues that PAC lost elections because of the land issue. The people's immediate demands should constitute the basis for mass mobilisation issues such as E-Toll, the impact of Electricity Tarriffs increase, 34 Marikana massacred mineworkers, the dragged to death taxi driver in Daveyton, rape and sexual abuse of women, petrol price increase the list goes on, PAC has been unable to articulate on these basic issue to create political presence. This points to internal functioning and skewed priorities in the party. One does not refute the fact that PAC as a party aspiring to govern should reflect upon itself and its political methods, surely there are matters of principle, there are strategic and tactical issues affecting the people the should articulate coherently for all social groupings and people of all ages without negating its principles and objectives. The immediate demands of the people should be linked to medium and, longterm objectives of the party. The people can't entrust the country to a party ravaged by division and incapable of function normally, hence one argument is Western Cape province as an example ia highly divided and weak organisationally, therefore logic dictates that before one jumps to elections hype unite the party members and build the party such that it can stand the test of time. Suprising the comrade denies the fact that the party is weak and divided, also malfunctioning, this amount to an anology you gave of a person denying his/her HIV/Aids status. Irrespective as to how good is the message, if the carriers lack organisation, coherence and intergrity the masses will not risk their votes. All of us want to engage in library politics of quoting this or that revolutionary as if we are year one students of political studies at varsity. The PAC is bigger than all this rabblerousing on the internet. In fact it is more sophisticated than the nit-picking contained in some of these arguments that one read about in these smses. To me an intellectual of note is not against political statistics because they are a true reflection of what is happening on the ground. To vilify Phillip for reflecting a reality based on research is a bit worrisome. No amount of revolutionary chorus will make the party win any election. It's only through blood, sweat and tears. People do not eat stale revolutionary ideals but fresh bread brought about by fresh ideas. The same goes to party building. The party needs fresh ideas in order for the African masses to listen to us.Anything less than that is disastrous and can only be likened to an AIDS sufferer who is in denial.
