I am also thinking of getting an MP3 player. Could someone please give me a
list of MP3 players that are accessible, both speaking and non-speaking.
Also does anyone know the price of Rockbox?

Rockbox is open source, so there is no price. Getting it installed and
working takes some research and effort though. It's not like installing
an application for Windows. You can check it out, as well as find a list
of supported players, at rockbox.org.

Hi Jeff,
If i were to keep the VLC Media Player how do you get it to play the full
movie? It would keep getting stuck on the theme preview to the movie, but
would not move forward and I could not find anywhere how to play, stop,
forward, rewind, etc. Thank you and also thank you for the
Hi:
I'll speculate that that is not the problem of the media player.
The theme you are seeing is accompanied by a menu for sighties
to click through to the different chapters etc... There is no
standard formenus.
I'm on a call right now, but I'll try to send you some info
control P will play and pause the DVD, control S to stop play of the DVD.

switching between playing MP3s and the radio.

Hi loren,
I've been playing with the VLC media player a little bit and from what I've
seen while the focus is in the VLC window you can hit the enter key which
will move the focus to the beginning of the movie. If this doesn't do it
you can press shift-f10 and arrow down to the chapters
Dear Listers,
I have recently subscribed to Send Space and need to know how to determine
the size of files, so that I can judge how much to include, in a file, for
upload. Cannot find anything, in their FAQ on this subtle but important
criterion!
Thanks,

Audio List Help,
While highlighting the filename either in Windows Explorer or even your
upload file selection box, hit alt+enter for properties. Among other
things, the ensuing dialog will have the file size in it.

You're essentially correct. I have heard some dvd's
not playing well, but this player is far better than WMP.
If I come accross any other helpfull resources, I'll let you know.

Hi Jeff,
I think I will also give it a shot as well... I stopped using WMP 11 a bit ago,
because it's such a memory hog and movies would sputter during playback. I then
began using HP DVD and the problem was gone. I only have a gig of memory and
need to eventually add another 3 GB. I still use
