Hi Dean, I tried plugging it in without doing anything else and Jaws quits. I tried not checking the default button in the sounds control panel, Goldwave and Jaws were working, but by the time the tape finished playing, Jaws had quit. Everything points to it being the soundcard in the Inport

Hi James, I tried it that way and as soon as I plug in the Inport into the usb, it silences Jaws. Other folks have recommended imic. It might be that the Inport isn't to good with Jaws. I guess not too many folks record from external sources as few people responded to my question. Sigh.

I have used the Xittle device you speak of, but it does disable Jaws no matter what I do. I have the IMic which does allow you to hear jaws through the headphone jack on the IMic itself. it works well! I think I paid about $40.00 for it, which I seem to think it was cheaper than the Xittle

Hi there, re the external sources; I believe you can use Audicy software, which is most likely free software, maybe someone can comment on its availability re the free software being used re external sources via Audic; I'd like to know too, wether or not you can record from a record turntable
