Ok, I just did some checking because I really don't know a thing about total
recorder. I thought that was the name of the program that comes with
Microsoft. But in checking, I see that one is called sound recorder. So I
assume total recorder must be purchased online somewhere.

Here's a great resource for Apple accessibility for Mac computers, Iphones,
Ipads, Ipods and so on and no, you wouldn't have found this on the Apple web
site but its one of many great resources that I think Apple should reference

Wow. This sounds even better than the Olympus DM4 which has just come out. I
like the idea of dedicated buttons and no menu structure. Perhaps someone
can do a podcast on this new unit, and then maybe we'd be able to compare

Not sure how blind friendly this unit will be! As there is no on screen
menue there isn't a need for talking functions. If one is to go by the
specks the unit appears to be laid out well with a large recording button in
the front of the unit. The monitoring speaker is definitely a plus.
Well I odn't don't think the Olympus has a line in to start with and last time
I played with one it had a little background noise so that's the difference but
again, not knocking the Olympus at all! it does a grand job for what it was
designed to do.
