Could it be the thickness of the protective case which does not allow the head
phone plug to fully connect into the jack?

I use the Bose OE Sound Link headphones, and the latency is not good at all.
There is quite a delay that is annoying. That is why I still use my trusty
analog headset for now. I haven't figured out a way to improve the latency.
I wish I could, because I want to rid myself of as many connections
I have used it, and it takes some getting used to, but it does work much
better. Still not the best user experience, but it does work well enough. If

You may want to tell your friend to consider the virtual audio cable
program. This seemed to work well for me when I tried it out. It does cost
money, but you can try it first. The only problem with the trial is every
few seconds, a female voice can be heard saying Trial.
