Hi Ray
I've just bought a panasonic dvd recorder with 160 gb HD, model 769 for £212
from Amazon. It is inaccessible , but I have a sighted partner to programme
it for me.
I bought this model as Panasonic are the only manufacturer to incorporate AD
with the recordings. Using long play mode

this could be due to an earth loop, caused by the computer and hi-fi being
earthed at different points, so there is a minute voltage difference
between the two.
The easiest way of eliminating this is to use an earth loop isolating patch

sorry - but not true. I used audioTechnica and cambridge cables at 25to 50
pounds each and they are about a third of an inch thick.
This is not induced hum but voltage difference hum.

Alternatively; you could switch to the Nullsoft wave out plug-in which
doesn't have the fade on seek setting.

I know that this should rightly go to winamp for the blind group, but since I'm
not a member, I wonder if someone on this list could direct me to the answer.
I haven't updated winamp for some time, but I've had to reinstall with the
latest full version - 5144. However, I like to hear my audio

Hi Listers
A couple of months ago I commented to the list that I'd tried a number of
wireless keyboards, none of which I could recommend to others on the list.
These included keyboards from Microsoft,
The only way I know of overcoming this is to do it in two stages.
First, put your CD in the tray and start CDEX - the tray will close and CDEX
will detect the tracks on the disc,
Then press the F10 button on your keyboard and press enter. This tells CDEX
that you want to make a WAV file of the
if you log onto the virgin megastore website, and search for lesley gore

if you can't find the disc, drop me an email off list and I'll send you the
URL.

Hi there
this sounds like a problem I've had on several occasions.
it comes when you've searched the CDDB for the track listings, but the
person who typed the listing has gone over the permitted number of
characters CDEX allows to name the track it's going to rip the music to.
This usually
I have no idea if this will point you in the right direction, but I use
sound forge 6 with Jaws 8 and there is a trick to accessing the gain control
on the volume page.
On the volume page tab once and you should hear jaws announce quote gain
unquote.
Then in jaws, switch to say all with
using might also be a
factor.
Thank you Steve,

Hi Bruce
in this email you mention that you've been reading the victor stream manual.
May I ask how you got it? Did you download the manual, in which case could
you give us the URL please. If you have a printed manual, can you possibly

Hi Andy
before I settled on my soundblaster live 24 bit external souncard, I bought
one of those audigy nx usb devices, but found that it sounded awful wwith

However if you're listening to jaws via another soundcard, it might well do

thanks very much for your tip about using say all in jaws and sound forge.
It works a treat with the gain slider in volume. I've been trying for years
to access this slider from the keyboard as I don't particularly like the
scripts that are available.
Now I'll try this trick with any other
