in recording a program in Goldwave, I forgot to save it as an mp3 file,
but I saved it as a wav file instead. I looked through the file formats

You must have the Lame MP3 encoder installed on your computer.

all tthe prompts but couldn't find any evidence, including file
I would just do a save as. that might do the trick.
