Hi,
So CompUSA was selling out its XP compatible versions of this "music
bridge", a device that will supposedly stream your music from your computer
with your media player of choice, to your home entertainment center.
I installed the software... Read the manual... Ran the setup... Found it
mildly inaccessible-but-still-more-or-less-usable... Connected the WMB54G
via EtherNet to my 2Wire router, set up the password and such...
Then, I unplugged the WMBg54, moved it to a position closer to my stereo,
plugged it in, plugged in the two RCA cables into the jack in my stereo
designed to accommodate a player... Set Winamp to recognize the installed
audio driver... Started Winamp, and I'm hearing nothing from my stereo.
I read something on a support forum I didn't understand which seemed to
say... You have to switch to the WMB54g and then back to your computer if
you want to hear something.
I have no idea what that person meant by "switching"...
Has anyone used this device and if yes, what did you do to get it to work
wirelessly?
If I can't get it to work wirelessly, I'll just buy a long Ethernet cable
and try it with the machine connected to the router, but I'm hoping it'll
work via the wireless route.
Any help/pointers would certainly be appreciated,
Brad Trainham
