Not necessarily as you may find that - depending on how much you spend - you’ll
need a portable DAC for your HD Player too - assuming of course that the player
you buy is indeed capable of using one in the first place -.

Talking of audio quality on phones and such i came to think of those portable
players for Hifi music.
