I just wanted to add another quirk to my sound card issues. Not long after
Windows loads the volume drops. It also drops while playing music. Are
these little battles I'll just have to live with?

hi some times windows media player alters the volume for some strange
reason.
have you played anything through that player lately?

WinAmp screws up my volume too. If I had WinAmp set to start on bootup
for some reason then my volume would get messed with upon bootup.
