Kazaa Lite
Hi List, For several months, I have been hearing many users say that they are very dissatisfied with Kazaa Lite, and its serious lack of users or lack of file content. I too was in that same boat, and decided to do something about it. The first thing I did is to go to: http://users.telenet.be/mavol2/private/KLR0075(www.filesharingplace.com).exe And then to: http://users.telenet.be/mavol2/private/KLR0076-updater(www.filesharingplace.com).exe Now, You have to get the first file, which is the 0075.exe, and then install it, then, get the second file, which is the 0076.exe and then install that one. You will be up-to-date. After the installation of the 0076.exe file is complete, you will get a message concerning magnet links. This is just how kazaa works with other web-sharing systems. You can choose to say yes or no, to the prompt of registering magnet links with kazaa. I did choose to do this but, either way, it will not cause the kazaa lite program to function improperly. The next thing to note, is that there are still the silly script error pop up messages, when you fire up Kazaa Lite every time. The home page must be messed up so, simply go under the kazaa lite options and change your start page to whatever you wish. I have mine set to google but no matter. Now if you still see limited amount of users or files, simply mash the enter key on the option located under the file menu for -- jump super node. Jump super node will simply move you to another more populated node. These options are in all versions of kazaa but, I wanted to make sure that whatever the author did to fix any bugs, that I had the latest versions installed on my system. Again, I still will sometimes see low amount of users but, after jumping around a bit, it is very common for me to see the 2 or 3 milion users that I was accustomed to seeing a few months ago. If you still like kazaa, please give all this a try. I am happy once again. And have no problems with finding those hard to find files. Roger R. I have it, and eventually took it off my hard drive, because I could do nothing with it. Re: problem with QuickMx
Don't worry about auto-find in Winmx. Quickmx will change it anyway since it's always searching. What you may want to do is go to your sys-tray and bring up quickmx. Then get to your context menu. You'll find things like stop using quickmx and some other things including an auto-find there. Set that one to 10, which is the highest setting. This will tell quickmx to do 10 searches at a time, and if you have some files waiting, it should find them and download them if there's anybody online who has them. If you do have any incomplete files, be sure to go to the Transfers window and click the Load Incomplete button. That tells Winmx that you want to finish the incomplete files, and then quickmx will help winmx to find them if they're available. Just be aware that it can take a while. I've been known to leave it online for hours with no results at all, then go to bed leaving it online all night and find several completed files in the morning. Of course if your internet connection costs you per hour, you definitely don't want to do that. Hope this helps! - Original Message - From: Allison Mervis [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC audio discussion list. RE: Problems with speakers, and microphone
Oh no, I select properties from the menu in volume control and select for record volume, and make sure that mic volume is checked in the show list, there are 7 boxes there for volume controls to display. That's not the problem. but thanks. --- Hamish Mackenzie [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi first of all sound max is the on board sound chip. Secondly you don't need to go into soundmax in the control panel or in the system tray to adjust volume just leave it alone. You can change all the settings from within the volume control in either the system tray if it is there or by going into sounds in the control panel. If you say you cant adjust the volume of your mic that's probably because when you go into the volume controls you are in the playback volume control you need to go into options and change to the recording properties and then if you move the slider up on the mic it will get louder. this will be what is happening when I vocalise does it . I can't even adjust my real actual mic volume unless I'm in an I vocalize chat, so I wonder if your system is lying to you about what your actual volume really is, lol. Shawn --- TerriStimmel [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi Shawn, Well, I just got a new computer. It has XP pro as the operating system. Like I said, I have Intel integrated sound. It seems to work quite well. Much better than whatever is in that old HP. When I look in programs, I see something called Sound Max. When I go in here, I have all kinds of volume settings. But my mutes aren't checkboxes, like they are on my HP. Instead they are buttons, so it's hard to tell if something is muted or not. I finally did realize that I could test my microphone, by going to Goldwave, so that's what I did. I don't know why it took me so long to think to try this. Anyway, it stated that the volume for recording was at 100, and for playback it's at 70. However, when I played back what I had recorded, it wasn't that loud. It wasn't low or anything, but just not what I expected, for the volume being at 100. Re: Downloading Nero demo.
Thanks for the info you gave me. You were right neither OldVersion.com or Nero.com worked for me so I never had a chance to try out Nero. I probably passed over the part of the website of Nero.com that it was not a free version because I was just looking over the different links on there. I don't know if a free demo version will come out this month or not to try out but if it doesn't I am thinking of buying Nero next month. Also, thanks to the others that did try to help me out it was very much appreciated. Melissa - Original Message - From: Geoff Waaler [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, August 09, 2004 3:03 AM Subject: Downloading Nero demo. Greetings, Sorry if this was already addressed, but I get this list in digest mode. I'm afraid neither OldVersion.com or nero.com will address the issue; she indicated having installed the file from nero.com. Nero works their demo in a different manner. Instead of disabling certain features or timing out it is fully functional until a given date when it is disabled. It is possible if your timing is bad to install a demo which only functions for a day. In this case I fear the file may already have gone bad. The following is pasted from nero's web site: ** begin quotation from nerro.com download page ** Important notice: This is NOT a Trial Version! New free demo package will be available soon. If you don't have a valid serial number of Nero 6 please don't download this packages! ** End of quotation ** The last demo file ran until July 31. Once the file was installed I doubt that without assistance from Nero support you will be able to install the new file when it becomes available and have a fresh demo. If people could do so there would be no need to ever buy the software. At this point the only way to obtain the free demo is to watch the site for a new file. If it does not work as I suspect you can probably get the Nero support group to help you tweek the registry or do something so as to unlock Nero for you. The more drastic option of course is to format and reinstall Windows. Good luck. Re: Kazaa Lite
Do you already need to have a version of Kazaa installed before you run these files, or is the first one the install file for the program? personal and MSN Messenger: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Skype user id: tlsyslo AOL Instant Messenger: Drizzlecat! Yahoo messenger: tlsyslo - Original Message - From: Roger R. Cusson [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: MIDI Mag [EMAIL PROTECTED]; Blind Tech [EMAIL PROTECTED]; PC-Audio [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, August 10, 2004 8:42 AM Subject: Kazaa Lite Hi List, For several months, I have been hearing many users say that they are very dissatisfied with Kazaa Lite, and its serious lack of users or lack of file content. Roger R.
