video recording, capture and editing?

And is it going too far to ask for some accessible video editing tools as well? Any thoughts appreciated. Am talking basic here, I'm not considering trying to be the next Steven Spielburg. ...Damon Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Re: Appending on the Olympus recorders
Keith, you wrote: How hard is it to memorize the interface? That's easy. If you normally record, you overwrite. If you want to insert, press the folder button, while a message is playing. This pauses the message and if you now press record, you insert at the pause position. If you want to append, you first go to the end of the message by pressing the forward button two times while in stop mode. You can then append by pressing the record button. *** Michael Lang *** Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: Delta soundcard problem.
Hello list members, I've been wanting to upgrade to a better sounding sound card too. I read some stuff on the net about a mother board that uses vacuum tubes to transmit the audio signal to your computer speakers. From what it says, I guess it's using these little 12AX7 tubes. The only questions I have about this is, how does this really work? Tubes are power demanding, and most computers as far as desktops go, they are running 200 to 400 watt power supplies. And how good do these vacuum tube based mother boards really sound? If it will give me a better sound, I'd like to know that. If it won't give me a better sound then what I'm already getting from what I'm using right now, I'd like to know that too. Last time I checked, these boards were going for $250 each for a hole unit. If it doesn't deliver what it claims, then maybe I'd better not spend the money. Thinks in advance! Re: Delta soundcard problem.
High end sound cards have less of a noise floor than the sound blaster live which is about minus 60 DB when the better cards are usually around minus 90 or so. Also the better cards have better shielding from noise generated electronically by hard drives and aren't as affected by unbalanced grounds as the sound blaster live. I know, I have and still use a sound blaster live. Setting default player on Notebook
Hello List! I recently purchased a Toshiba Notebook, with Vista. The system comes with Windows Media Player as the default; I normally use Real Player as my default. I also use Winamp to run my radio station. I installed Winamp, with associating it with any music file types; then I installed Real Player and set it as my default. Windows Mwedia Player still has priority and plays everything; however, when I try to play stuff on my web site, which is in M3U format (files), Windows asks me to download the file to my system. I just want to click and play the files (songs). I did see something in Audio on control panel listing format types, similar to what you get when you insert a new CD and windows asks which program to play it in. How does one assure default player in Vista? Keith: Just a couple of things to note here: 1. I chose the Delta card because I'm the JAWS script writer for the Delta Panel software and I know that I can achieve total accessibility to the interface. There certainly are better soundcards out there but this one will work for me. 2. I'm not sure if you are interested in the Delta 1010 or the less expensive version called Delta 1010 LT. Here anyone is entitled to set up a low power FM station with a maximum power of 1 watt, within two defined areas of spectrum. You don't have to apply for any license, just set up and go. The Radio Spectrum management group reserve the right to come and inspect your installation at any time and there are fines if you're over power. You also are required to do a station identification that provides contact details a minimum of every three hours. But that's it. Simple. And you'll find some of the best radio out there on those frequencies. Lots of niche and community broadcasters. Merging wav files
Hello everyone, I have several wav files that I am wanting to merge together. I just wanted to know if anyone knew of an accessible wav joining program out there. I basically want to be able to select the files I want to join, and this program will take them and join them together and make one single file out of them. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Chris Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Re: Merging wav files
High Chris, If you are using a PC, there is a program on it already that can do this. It is called, Sound Recorder. I'm still trying to teach myself how to do what you are talking about, but it can be done in this program.
