I have a conference this afternoon. Does anyone know how to insure that
sessions are recorded in separate files? How do you start a new file?

If you have not recorded anything, you it will be in a new file. The only
instance it will not go into a new file is if you pause the recording.
However, if you stop the recording and start it again, it will go into a new

Re: broadcast professionals and people who work in radio

2008-01-22 Thread DJ DOCTOR P
High Bret,
I use to work in radio for a short while.
I mostly used JAWS and Windows Media Player to do whatever I needed to do.
When I needed to do voice over's, I used Sound Recorder for that task.
But that was when the station had to be put on autopilot.
But mostly, I used a pare of CD players a MD recorder and a pare of tape
decks and a pare of turntables.
I done it all without having to look at anything.
Windows Media Player still works for this purpose, but in V10 and 11, it's a
little hard to get at the cross fading and all that.
But I understand that there are other peaces of software out there that will
do the same thing that Windows Media Player does.
But basically, all you need is a PC that has Jaws on it and a good media
player and you're all set!
The station owner will take care of hooking it up to the in house mixer, so
you don't have to wary about that chore.
All that's needed next is to load all of your CD's on to the computer and
set all of the files up for cuing, and you're ready to role!
My best regards to you all.
  John.
