not quite related, but need help please
Hi, This is probably off-topic and I apologies for that, but do not know where to obtain help. I am seeking suggestions on an antivirus program that is Jaws 7 friendly. Thank you and apologies again. external sound card for my laptop
Hi folks Yes, I know, it's the question that's been asked on the list time and time again, but you know how it goes, you skip over a lot of messages that you think might not apply to you, and when they do you can't remember. So I've got this farely new laptop here and it's got XP Home on it, JAWS 9 with the most recent updates, and it's exactly how I like it, all accept for the sound card. It's got one of those sigmatel cards, and that just won't cut it for what I want to do. what I'd like to be able to do is capture stuff from external devices like a CD player, my Victor stream, or even speech from JAWS along with my voice so I can do demonstrations of software and other things like that. I know the What U hear option was available before, but I'm not sure which sound card to use so I can do all this again? I'd like it to be an external USB sound card if at all possible. I'm hoping this isn't asking too much, LOL. Anyways if anyone has an idea of which sound card to choose, and if it's for a reasonable price I'd go for it. I'd like to stay below $100 if possible. Thanks guys. Chris Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Windows media player has a volume normalizer. I'm not sure where it is- but its in the main tab there, when you go to burn a cd- right by crossfade if I'm not mistaken. Have a good day from Tyler C. Hi Tyler, Thanks for your suggestion. Will check it out. I had a old version of Nero, but cannot get it to work on this new Vista machine, and in there I could equalize. Re: Equalizing Volume
hi, open all the files using batch prosessing. then in the afect tab choose add afect. then choose maxumize volume and then choose full dinamic range. depending on how many files you have you could also open them one at a time and do the same thing. - Original Message - From: Morey Worthington [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Pc-audio Pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Monday, May 19, 2008 3:12 PM Subject: Equalizing Volume Hi all, I have a folder of mixed music songs. RE: Equalizing Volume
Hi listers, Is there a way to do a batch volume boost in Sound Forge ver 8? I am trying to get each of my MP3's to be the same volume. I want to be able to get it done using a batch process in stead of one at a time. Any help is greatly appreciated. Re: Equalizing Volume
Hi I'm not sure about sound forge, but in gold wave, when you do a batch process, there's an effects tab. Pressing enter on the add button presents you with a veriety of choices, one of which is maximize volume, and probably a way to normalize it, too. Not sure about sound forge- does it have a batch processing feature? If it does, check around for an effects tab, or something similar. Hope that helps, sorry I don't have sound forge (too expensive for me grin) Have a good day from Tyler C. Re: Equalizing Volume
Hello, Don't own sound fordge but there is a program named MP3gain that does exactly what you want. You can point it to a folder of mp3's and it will normalize them all. mike constantine (on laptop) wrote: Hi I'm not sure about sound forge, but in gold wave, when you do a batch process, there's an effects tab. Re: Equalizing Volume
The advantage of using MP3GAIN over programs such as Sound Forge and Goldwave is that the changes MP3Gain makes are completely lossless. There is no quality lost in the change because the program adjusts the mp3 file directly, without decoding and re-encoding. It is free and you can download it from http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net Note that it won't normalise your wave files. Regards, Barry Chapman - Original Message - From: Michael J.
