I like CDex for what it does, but it hasn't been updated in ages.

Hi,

Ah, I see. Well, I take it its not so great now? That's sad - but 25 dollars
would be an excellent price. Though CD Ex can convert files, actually.

Constantine,

Easy CDDA Extractor includes ripper, burner, and file format converter
components (I've never used CDEx; but I don't think it does.); and, back in
the day, its registration fee was only $25. It was generally regarded as one
of the best deals on the computer audio market.

I have a bunch of completely legal CD's that I want to conver to
completely legal MP3's. Each disk is one track, so I don't have to worry
about choosing tracks or anything like that. Has anyone at least gotten,
in Easy CD-DA Extractor 12, the choose a location feature to work
correctly? I don't have the fabled version 9, and besides, I want to use
the new extraction engine in 12 to do this. I would use Exact Audio
Copy, but EAC does not like these disks. Anyone have any thoughts?

So is this a good purchase or not? I'm an audio novice and really have not
downloaded any audio programs other than Winamp, which I rolled back to a
previous version cause I couldn't get my ogg files to play.

I'd primarily be interested in ripping and other recording.

Or should I go to Goldwave?

Re: Success Browsing to Location in Easy CD-DA Extractor

2008-12-05 Thread Dana S. Leslie
Easy CDDA Extractor doesn't do digital recording. for that, you would need
to go to a product such as Goldwave or Sound Forge.

but, for ripping, burning, and audio file format conversions, I still think
Easy CDDA Extractor is your best bet. You just might not want to spring for
the *Professional* level license; going for the cheaper license, instead.
And, be prepared to have to use some inconvenient work-arounds in the ripper
component, if you want to rip selected tracks only, not just entire CDs.

RE: Success Browsing to Location in Easy CD-DA Extractor

2008-12-05 Thread David Truong
HI,

Why not just put the following into a new script file for Easy CD-DA
Extractor and assign a hotkey. That's what I've done and had access to the
browse folder button since it came out. I mean it is actually a browse
folder button except the author hasn't shown it properly in the dialogue to
us. But if you use the home row utility of jaws, you will indeed find this
browse folder button in there. Anyway, here is the script code and modify
it how you want. Oh it goes without saying that I don't support this code
so use at your own risk. Also, I'd be sure you know a little bit about jaws
scripting if you want to use the below code.

; Cut from below this line

Include HjGlobal.jsh ; default HJ global variables
Include hjconst.jsh ; default HJ constants

Script ClickBrowseFolderLocationButton ()

Let grip = GetFirstChild (GetFirstChild (GetNextWindow (GetNextWindow
