Re: Winamp and library.

2010-12-27 Thread Christopher Chaltain
It may be logical, but that doesn't make it correct. There are radio and
TV stations available in Winamp, and you don't need to upgrade to Winamp
Pro to access them. They aren't installed by default, so when installing
Winamp, you'll have to make sure you check on line services or whatever
they're called. They also aren't very accessible, so be prepared to use
up a lot of patience playing around with them.

BTW, at http://www.winamp.com/media-player/en, here are the reasons they
say you should go pro. Note that access to on line material isn't one of
them.

Why Go Pro?
. Native video support including the most popular file formats for H.264
encoded video

. Unrestricted Audio CD Burning Ripping up to 48x
. MP3 Encoding - the industry leading format
. High Quality Bitrate AACPlus Encoding (twice the quality of the free
version)

. Help fund continued product development innovation

Fwd: SkypeTalking 0.9 Beta released!

2010-12-27 Thread Steve Pattison
From: Hrvoje Katic hrvojeka...@gmail.com
To: skypetalk...@googlegroups.com

Dear all,

I am proud to release a long-awaited SkypeTalking 0.9, available as a
Public Beta.
Why Beta?
Because some message and documentation translations are outdated, and
there still may be some bugs. Also this is a version that took the most
time to be developed according to the previous versions.
This is the first Public Beta in a history of SkypeTalking add-on, and
contains numerous new features and changes I was working on for several
months in addition to my other tasks. Some of them took more time and
pations in order to be completed, and therefore it's time for final
testing and searching for bugs. Your help is more than welcome.
Some of the feature highlights in 0.9 release are the SkypeTalking
Updater, Key Describer, an easy keystroke customization, event history
buffer, verbosity options for configuring what and how will something be
spoken by SkypeTalking, Auto-Start SkypeTalking with Windows option, and a
basic Voicemail support. The System Tray icon is also back again.
For list of other new features and changes, see the What's New
documentation by going to the start menu -Programs SubMenu -
SkypeTalking SubMenu -What's New, or by choosing What's New button from
within the About dialog or the Help menu in the System Tray right-click
popup menu.
A final release is scheduled for a later time when everything will be
complete and bug-free, and there will probably be at least 1 Release
Candidate version.
Thanks for supporting SkypeTalking and have a merry Christmas!

MAD Plug-in for Winamp 0.15B

2010-12-27 Thread Dana S. Leslie

Is there any way to get it to play AACPlus files, as well as MP3s?

Most of my audio files are either MP3 or AACPluss. I would like to used the
MAD plug-in for the MP3 files, but I don't wan to continually have to switch
back to Winamp's native MPEG support, to play my AACPlus files.

Any ideas will be appreciated.

Hi Barry,

I don't know the first one. The second one is Chopin's Minute Waltz and the
third and fourth are also Chopin. I believe three is a nocturne and four is
a prelude, I think.

Sorry but that's the best I can do just off the top of my head. I have all
three on CD, which happens to be a CD of all Chopin stuff.

Getting Windows Media Player to rip to .flac?

Is it possible to include .flac in the list of formats supported by Windows
Media Player? I confess I don't know this program well and hate its

flac format, which isn't in the list of available formats as things stand.
Does WMP do plug-ins, and if so, where does one find WMP plugins?

You can usually get the name and artist of a song by typing a line from
the song in quotation marks in the Google search edit box followed by
the word song outside the quotes. This will usually produce links that
in and of themselves will reveal the information sought. I have done
this many times with rock songs that I have heard on the radio.
