I used to have a fair number of these files, but I suspect the black hole in

file is, it was some music that a PC could play. My knowledge of these
files is not much, but if I remember correctly, they were kind of like MIDI
files, but not quite the same. I'd like to find a good source of these
files, as well as an accessible player to play them. I had a great program
in the good old DOS days, and I remember getting my first sound card, a
Sound Blaster to play them on my 3/86 PC. If anybody could help me I'd
appreciate it.

I do have some that I could share via sendspace or dropbox, but I would also
be interested if you find any good collections of these files, as I lost
over 4000 of them in a hd failure.

winamp will play them.

Shift-ctrl-E will bring up a display of the current settings: useful in
deciding what changes you wish to make. The grave and tab keys will adjust
the preamp up and down.
