same as winzip in the old days. I never used 7zip much...winrar provides all my archiving needs; can even do .zips instead with the mere activation of a radio button. i have found that rar is a superior archiving format, though of corse it won't do you much good with mp3s and such unless you

If you mainly want to play DVDs, who knows. Yes 9 will play BDs too, but as the keys update you may have to upgrade if you care about BD to start with. BD is Blu-Ray Disk BTW. There's also the fact that 14 maybe worse then 13 in accessibility. I should check it out before going firther though. But

Oh yeah, another thing. Do you care about 4K? if not, who knows again. Dain's right. It depends on what you needed it for. I had to because of wanting to be cool and getting Win 8, and because I do play Blu-Ray disks. Also, I'm a home theater geek and though I can't see it, I do care about 4K.

For DVDs especially with Win 7 you have 2 players built in already. Windows Media Player, and Windows Media Center. Only Downside is you have to use Narrator. Perhaps NVDA might work. It's the mirror driver that causes a problem. Damb it MPAA! Windows thinks Jaws is going to capture the movie and
