Do you still use Macs? I have an airport extreme router that I've had
for several years. It is behind the times, in that it doesn't have the
AC protocol. Then again, I'm using an xp box to type this note, so
there you go. Anyway, one of the things I have appreciated about that
Apple router is that
Okay, just checekd the Apple Airport Express on the Apple web site and
unfortunately the unit doesn't seem to support the AAC Wireless
Protocol, a shame but N is certainly better than B or G and the fact
that the Express supports both 2.$ and 5G radio bands is helpful, use
the 5G band if
The new protocol is exactly that, new and I don't think its even been
officially aproved yet and - if it has - then that would have only
happened in very recent times.
Manufacturers such as Asus etc jumped the gun and its just as well .

Again if you can't use the new AAC protocol then at the very least see
if your Router supports dual-band and - wherever possible - move all
your devices to the 5GHZ band which is less crowded and provides better
data throughput.
Most rotuers these days let you define at least a different name

I notice that Sangean have introduced some new Wi-Fi Radio models.
The great thing about these new offerings is that they support both 2.4
and 5.0GHZ Wi-Fi bands along with G/N protocols.
I haven't mentioned model numbers here as they seem to vary a little
from country to country.

On at least my router/modem, 5 ghz is a separate network from 2.4. I wonder
why they didn't make AC so it autodetects like everything before it?

huge difference when streaming audio/video around the house.
Anyone on this list I’m sure will know that I love to stream content whether by
AirPlay, DLNA or any other method so when I first heard of this Router a few
I have a Motorola/Arris cable modem/gateway that does do AC. My ability to
use airplay is far better than it was with the old one at my old place,
which was whatever SMC model Charter used to provide back then. I always
thought the one session limit before the little airplay to 30-pin dongle
Pressing #3 should give you delete plus more options.
