an interesting proposal

2009-05-13 Thread anthony tom
Hello,

I have been asked to explore the possibility of providing a radio stream, or
radio streams to multiple clients each wanting to access content specific to
the service he offers. Kind a like a streaming radio station at his
business.

Question. How can I achieve this? Can I set up like a server dedicating a
stream to each client? And if so, how so?

I really crave advice in this regard.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

You'd get bandwidth and allocate it running shoutcast servers. problem is
that you'd need the bandwidth, and there are many stable services already
out there.

I'm not knocking your idea, but google around, check out the competition,
and see what you can provide that they can not.

are much better. An example would the SoundTouch plugin. I also have
my broadcasting plugin, EdCast, configured in Foobar now too. After
using Winamp for about 3 years, I never thought anything would be

  Hi Anders,

Regarding Winamp the installation is extremely flexible so you can
install as many or as few features as you want and need so Winamp
doesn't have to take up a lot of space. I like Winamp because I like
experimenting with some of the DSP/Effect plug-ins available for Winamp.
I don't have Hal so I don't know how well the Winamp library works with
Hal. Another reason I like to use Winamp is because of the excellent
Window-Eyes scripts now available for Winamp. However if Foobar 2000
meets all of your needs you might like to keep using it. So you have a
  lot of options.

Actually i have been using foobar2000 for 4 years now.
However from the beginning it was a really neat and great player.
Though many functions i had in my first version of foobar2000 has been
  removed.
For example, you now have to create your own hotkeys for play stop etc.
  Now to my question.
Most people seems to use winamp and seems to be very satisfied with it.
But it seems to take up a lot of space though.
Now in the latest version of hal you can use winamp much more flexible
  than
  before.
The screenreader has got new map files and scripts.
So i am thinking to start using winamp again after 4 years.
There is a streamripper plugin also for winamp.
But why should i use winamp?
More than what i've stated above.
Can the library feature be used?
Such as the shoutcast radio functionality i had in older versions of
  winamp.

Hi, I think I've found something that's broken in winamp 5.551. it has to do
with the sqrsoft output crossfading plug-in. When I tried to use it, I hear
no audio coming through it. Well ... that's not entirely true, since what I
really hear is something like a digital feedback. When I click the configure
button, winamp 5.551 generates an error. Any ideas? And oh yeah! That pesty
crash when one tries to use the library, is that still around? It seems so
to me! Oh how I wish to be able to use the winamp library again!

By using ht the card outside of sonar I mean, patching something into it and
hearing audio whether or not I'm using sonar. Is this possible?

 Hello,

A friend of mine wants to record things like the radio and tv using some
sort of modern mp3 or similar audio player/recorder. We're looking around
for any such unit which is inexpensive and has a line in jack. Are there
 any
 such things available?

I know of the PlexTalk, and I think MileStone311 also can do this, but I
 was
hoping to find something a bit less expensive.

Perhaps the Edirol R9 may also do this, I'm not sure, but that comes with
 a
 price too.

He has a Creative Moovo, I think he said, It does what he wants, but you
must crawl thru a dozen menus to do it.

 Help appreciated.

What are the latest jaws scripts for winamp? and what version will it support?
I'm using winamp 5.1 with jaws 8. but everytime i attempt to use the library,
the prog crashes. I'm only able to query a song for example, but when i go into
the results field, the program crashes. I'm so lost at this point. and
suspecting that it might be a script issue. well is it? again where can i find
the latest scripts?
thank you.

 That is to much trouble.
I think the letters PC are suppose to mean personal computer.
If I can't do what I want to do on a Vista system right out of the box,
 then
 who needs it.
My job requires me to do a lot of things with digital audio technology.
If Vista is going to hinder me from doing this, then I will spend my money
 on a Mack O-X-X system.
Coming from a blind person's prospective, Macks are a hole lot user
 friendlier then PCs any way.
So I will go that rout if I have to.

Applian Technolgoies has just released a free, audio recorder
that works incredibly well with Windows Vista and XP. This
 recorder uses revolutionary new
recording technology which is sound card independent. It can
capture audio as MP3 files from virtually any application or
 internet stream.

San Anselmo, CA (PRWEB) August 20, 2007 -- Applian Technologies
 has just released the
 Freecorder Toolbar Sound Recorder
, a free audio capture program for Windows Vista which restores
the audio recording functionality previously available in prior
 versions of Windows. Using
a new driverless recording process developed by Applian, the
software allows customers to capture audio as MP3 files from
 virtually any application or
internet stream. Freecorder Toolbar is free, and available today
 from
 www.freecorder.com.

istorically, all PC's had sound card drivers with an easily
accessible recording line, and also allowed recording
applications to install custom sound card
drivers. Today, the sound card drivers that ship with Windows
Vista rarely make a recording line available, or if a sound card
 does have a recording line,
that capability is buried. And the new driver signing
requirement of Windows Vista has permanently disabled sound
capture technologies that relied on custom
drivers. Before Freecorder Toolbar, it has been difficult or
impossible to capture audio in Windows Vista.

Internet audio or application-generated sound can now be saved
by everyone. And our convenient browser-based interface offers
 enhanced search capabilities
and other cool tools, all for free. Everyone should have this
great little recorder on their browser.
Freecorder Toolbar works inside both Internet Explorer and
Firefox, and offers simple one-button recording that saves
everything you hear from your PC speakers
as either an MP3 or WAV file. It will also record from the
microphone or line-in inputs on your PC. Additionally,
 Freecorder Toolbar includes a powerful
Google-based search, and optional browser enhancements like a
radio tuner, weather bug, pop-up blocker, search highlighter and
 more.

We are thrilled to be able to give consumers an easy-to-use
universal audio recorder that works great with Windows Vista and
 XP said Applian CEO Bill
Dettering, Internet audio or application-generated sound can
now be saved by everyone. And our convenient browser-based
 interface offers enhanced search
capabilities and other cool tools, all for free. Everyone should
have this great little recorder on their browser.

Freecorder Toolbar was developed in partnership with Conduit,
the leading platform for building online communities via
 community toolbars. Our vision at
Conduit is to provide website publishers with the most powerful
components and content for their community toolbar, and
 ultimately to deliver a superior
end-user experience, said Ronen Shilo, CEO of Conduit. Applian
is a clear leader managing streaming media and we are delighted
 to provide their highly
useful tools via our platform. Freecorder Toolbar contains no
advertising, and is available for free from Freecorder.com. It
 requires a PC running Windows
 2000 or later.
