What radio station is it? Do they broadcast on the Internet in Windows Media
or Winamp streams? If so there is a program that would do recordings
directly into MP3 called Screamer Radio that has now over 2000 radio
stations within itself and you can also add others to favorites. You can
check it
Of course it's possible to convert Midi to WAV at least; I use a program
called Wingroove for it, I guess I sent it to some people on this list some
years ago. I think it's not available on any site but I can send it to
anyone who wants along with some instructions.

The site is http://www.aolradio.com
And as I tried now it will offer a program to install online so you just
accept and after that you can listen to the radio stations.

Why would anyone have RM files? Perhaps because there were media files in
this format on some site; some radio stations have archives like this, for
example.
As far as I know Goldwave doesn't support Real Media format, at least 4.26
doesn't, haven't tried newer versions. Anyway, there is a program
It's RAM that is in most cases a sorta playlist, RA or RM are then the files
themselves; RA is audio only and RM can be both audio and video.

Ah, so that's probably the problem. If you have Quicktime there are some
plugins that disturb the downloads and prevent you from getting to the file
page correctly; so try to uninstall Quicktime completely along with the
plugins and then see if you already get to download the MP3 correctly. I had

To disable the updates go to preferences (ctrl p), then general

You can try this site:

You upload the RA file and you can convert into various formats; then you
get a link to download the converted file via E-mail. I've tested it now on
converting RA into MP3 and it worked very well.
Hope it helps.

Hi listers!
I recently upgraded to Windows XP and since then I have a weird sound

Hi!
I think the Quicktime icon is the culprit here; I used to have Quicktime and
it did the same, then I uninstalled it completely also with the plugins and
it got back to normal. So just try uninstalling it and see if there is some
improvement.

Hi Ketan!
What specific stations are you trying? Maybe the streams have changed or
something. Or do you mean you really tried ALL 2889 stations in the
directory and none of them worked?

Hi Dana!
1. When recording JAWS doesn't interfere in it.
2. As far as I know there is no shortcut to start and stop recording;
anyway, there is a rec button when you alt-tab once when you're in the
main up-down slider so just press space on it if you want to record and
again to stop recording;

I know what you mean with those signs on the keyboard; I don't have brackets

Hi Larry!
As far as I remember you mentioned the two newer computers have WMP 11
installed; so do you think installing version 10 would work there? As many
people have problems with version 11 I guess with the previous version you
might be able to access it properly.

When you're in the Winamp main window press ctrl alt N, that will open
another window of Winamp, then you can play one file in the first and
another in the new one.

The music file in an email hides in Temporary Internet Files so you got to
look around and find out if there is some WAV or Midi file in some folder
within that.

Anders,
That other link that works for you is a Windows Media one despite its RTSP
prefix; just check the properties while it's playing. So that's why it
works. Normally Real Audio isn't supported by Screamer Radio.

Hi!
Well, only for listening I would know about Surfmusic available at
http://www.surfmusic.de
But for me it seems to be rather heavy and it doesn't have the recording
feature; at the same time it helped me find some more radio stations I could
add to Screamer; LOL!
I dunno about any other one
I'm also for the list name in the subject line.

A little tip to download Skype or programs in general: instead of
clicking/pressing enter on the download link on the page simply do it in the
context menu and save target as; then you'll get really the whole program.
It seems the information bar doesn't let you download it
Strange problems you've been experiencing with version 5.35; for me it's
perfect, even more stable than 5.32 to 5.34.

Hi John!
What installation of Winamp do you have - full, custom, lite etc? I know
that with the lite edition some files are not even in the file list so if

It also happens to me since I upgraded from Windows 98 to XP either if I use

It used to happen to me at some point still in Windows 98 and the problem

RAR isn't an audio format but an archive like ZIP; you need to unpack it
first and then there is an MP3 inside it. For opening RAR archives Winrar or
7Zip are good. But we're going off-topic here.
