I don't know if it will help ut there are two small holes on the back of the
player and one of them is a reset button you have to use something small to
press it. If you downloaded the scripts and thecreative media lite you
press control plus alt plus u and that will take you to the zen stone page.

Leslie, you cannot just paste an overdrive book onto the Zen stone player.
overdrive and windows media player have to handle the transfers because
 the books
are licensed to your computer for a specified period of time, usually 21
 days. if
the publisher allows, you have the option of burning a compact disc of
 your book,
or transferring the book by means of the wizard to a DRM compatible player
 to
listen to the books from overdrive. the books may remain on a portable
 player as
long as it takes for you to listen to them. if you paste from the portable
 player
back onto your hard drive after the book has expired, no dice, you may not
 listen
to the book without renewing it from overdrive.

Now to the final great feature. This player will allow you to play
  DRM
Windows Media files and Audible content. When playing Audible content
  (Formats
2 and 3 only), and you stop playing the book and move to another
  folder,
your position within the book is retained! I think that the storage
  capacity of
the player, and the fact that the quality of format 3 is quite
listenable, makes the use of this format acceptable.

 Hi Lesley.

A common problem that people have found with the zen stone is not waiting
long enough for it to start playing. Hold the centre play button in for 3
seconds and then wait for 15 to 20 seconds for it to start playing. Make
sure the volume isn't turned right down and make sure your ear buds have a
firm connection, they should click into place when properly connected.

Try and paste an mp3 track in there so that you can eliminate whether it's
the format of your book or the player.

 Regards.

He can only guarantee them working with Jaws V8 at the moment.

to use quicktime to play these, and I’d rather play them using winamp or

 Hi.
What do you mean by the serial?not sure about that? the only serial
number I know of is a number that's found on the box of the package
when you get it, and it's usually used to register your product.
and in case anyone's doing searches for it, it's actually called the
Creative Zen Stone, no key in there.
If by serial you mean the model number for it, there's really only
one model and it's 1 gig, so unless you get something else, that's
what you'll get. I've only ever seen the Creative Zen Stone in a 1
gig model, so I believe that's all there is.

unfortunately, i got the one gigabyte version, didn't know there was a two
gig version until a week after i had purchased this one, but really no
problem, for a totally blind person it is so easy to operate, just one
 thing
i need to know, how long is the running time, how many hours can i run it
before recharging it?? the headphones that come with it are rubbish, but i
do have a very natty and extremely good set of headphones that came with a
radio someone gave me last year, anyway, can someone tell me how long this
little baby runs without needing a recharge, regards from ireland, travel

 Hi Leslie,

I went to the Microsoft web site and used the main downloads page. I
believe the web address is www.microsoft.com/downloads. You can browse
through categories or type in a search for the program you want to
download. You could also install media player from your windows xp CD,
but that version is most likely older than the one on the Microsoft web
 site.

Since all of those programs you mentioned, Media Player Run time and
Windows Media Player Connect appear to be part of Windows media player,
if I'm not mistaken, when you remove everything and reinstall media
player 11, you should get all of those back. You also might want to
check the system requirements as listed in the mlb.com support page.
There are a few knowledge base articles and frequently asked questions
that deal with audio problems and no audio, that's where I found the
suggestion to uninstall windows media player in the first place. I took
this action after trying a bunch of other things, and uninstalling is
what fixed it for me. I of course can't promise that this will work for
everyone else, but I was thoroughly annoyed with game day audio at the
time and after trying everything else, that is what worked for me.

 leslie ferrell wrote:
No need to apologize, Beth! I guess since I covered the 10 version with
 11
means I need to go back and remove it in programs and program files too?
Also, where did you acquire the latest version if in fact that's the one
 you
installed? I'm willing to try anything as long as it works! Thanks for
 your time.

 Aloha,

 Leslie

 Hi Leslie,

If you're talking about trying to fix Game day audio, I uninstalled all
of windows media player entirely. If you take this route, you might
want to back up any libraries you might be using if you don't want to
have to set them up manually again. Since I generally use Real Player,
I didn't have to worry about this. I believe the game day audio player
is an embedded version of Windows Media player and that it may also use
flash player as well somehow. If your question wasn't about game day
 audio, then I apologize.smile

It's wonderful that you have sighted help at your disposal! But how about
people such as myself who don't: I have advised mlb that the real problem
is they changed the functions of the access and no longer is simple as a b
c! They had a working page last year so that even a person like you can
access the games without sighted help. Hopefully they have acknowledged my
suggestions and will follow through with them so the rest of who do not have
sighted help can access the games as easily as last year

Aloha and happy accessing!

Mike, I did have my wife take a look, comparing what she could see on the
screen of the computer that would play gameday audio with the screen of
 the
one that wouldn't. She saw no difference. Both looked as though the audio
was running. Now then, what you said about the volume being all the way
 down
or muted makes sense. Can you tell me where to find mute and volume on the
embedded player? I have a software synthesizer, so I can't duplicate what
 others do with WMP.

 Larry

First of all, 99% of Gameday customers likely have no problem. If the
service works for that large of a group, clearly, the service is working
 as intended.
It's also clear that you have a problem for whatever reason.
If you have sighted assistance available, I would suggest that you have
that person try accessing a game.
Turn off your screen reader so that it doesn't interfere with that
 person's use of the pc.
Make certain that a mouse is plugged in.
If I had to guess, perhaps the Gameday's player audio is either on mute
 or
 down to no volume.

When having done this kind of debugging for myself, my sighted wife can
often spot problems within 30 seconds that I couldn't detect in 30 hours.

You are either doing something wrong; the problem is with the gameday
player or something is blocking the stream.

And I would also guess that the only way to resolve this is by someone
having access to the machine that doesn't work.
