Hi, Geoff, I know that real networks is in Seattle, so you might call
area 206, and they might have a number for you.

Re: Downloading from RealNetworks.

2004-09-02 Thread Geoff Waaler
Hi Richard,

Thanks much for the info. before posting I got spyware software out of
the way as much as possible short of uninstalling, but at least one
spyware app remains resident, hence your suggestion is very plausable.
Of course setting MSIE to system defaults *SHOULD* result in the cookie
handling working as RealNetworks expects. I emailed RealNetworks but
didn't receive a reply. Does anyone know a phone number, or which link
I should follow to obtain it? So far I have not determined how to
contact them in a manner that can result in a response.

Thanks and regards.
Geoff

Some of the spyware blockers also affect cookies the same way they do ads
and popups. You might want to call customer service there and discuss the
problem with them.

Downloading from RealNetworks.

2004-09-01 Thread Geoff Waaler
Greetings,

When ever I attempt to download from real.com I receive a message
stating: your security settings do not allow this file to be
downloaded..

Earlier I spyproofed my pc and acordingly disabled things like scripts
and activex controls. I have since gone back to system defaults and
deleted all cookies and files in MSIE 6. I have Windows XP service
pack 2 and JFW 5.1 though this was going on before I installed SP2.
The FAQs at real.com are not helpful.

Perhaps a related problem is that the cookie is apparently not taking
for NFL field pass as I reported earlier. When ever I click on a feed
I am presented with the FieldPass signup page and I fill in my sign-on
info yet never get past this page. Do i need to reformat my disk
before the NFL season starts, or has someone out there ran into a
similar situation?

Thanks and best regards.

Why do you think you need to reformat your disk? Just set up your cookie
handling properly.
