Today, I read the first hands-on review of the DS-40. The reviewers, seemingly a british company which distributes such products, like the 40 quite well. They write, that putting the clip microphone onto the recorder is a bit tricky.
According to the review, one always seems to have to go into the menu, when one wants to change the playback speed. That would be really cumbersome. I like it as it is on the better Sony voice recorders, where one sets the alternative speed in the menu and then can easily change between normal and alt speed with a mechanical switch. Having said that, I'm still looking forward to the new Olympus recorders of course.
