 Hi,
Not sure on this one, what does your sound card say on it, it's
manufacture and model number? If windows doesn't recognize it it
 won't
 be
 showing correct hardware information.

RE: Where can I find drivers for my soundcard? I don't have them.

2007-10-02 Thread albert griffith
I'm a jfw user and I've used the service successfully for quite awhile. I
know two other people who use it as well. Every couple of months I run the
scan and it occasionally finds drivers I wouldn't have caught otherwise.
Drivers for my chip sets and other more obscure components. Not all drivers
are posted to Microsoft's update site. Something to consider, I never have
to spend the hours and hours you have looking for sound drivers. Because I
use this service, they're updated in a matter of seconds not days, smile. I
hope this helps.

Sure. I've seen these services before. $29 for a subscription. Your
better off searching individually for specific drivers.

I would like to hear any jfw user testimonials on this service. I think
using this service would create more problems then fixes.

Just my opinion and thanks for the link...KG

It's not all flash. It produces a HTML web page like document with the
download links included. There is a flash thinggie at the top but it's not
relevant to what you want to do.

 problem

The motherboard is model number viakm266 The enhanced audio comptroller is

The soundcard (i think) is: Km266-8235/7-6a6lyb09c If you can find the
appropriate drivers for an XP machine reply with the link.

To the web site of the manufacturer of your motherboard. It would
also help immensely if you had its model number. Then you could
download anything specifically related to your machine.

 Hi,
Not sure on this one, what does your sound card say on it, it's
manufacture and model number? If windows doesn't recognize it it
 won't
 be
 showing correct hardware information.
 Dave.

Hope this helps.

This popular series of MB's , M7VIG, M7VIGPro, M7VID, M7VIQ etc, all
had
built-in sound processors.

The usual one was the Pro, which used the C-Media processor

Here's the D/L drivers page

Some others used the AVANCE sound processor:

Yours most likely used the VIA VT-8375 Integrated Sound Processor:

Legacy is not a brand name. It means simply that generic (read older)
drivers should work with it. Tell the person who built the computer
for you that there should have been some drivers on the CD that came
with the motherboard. if they don't have that CD any more, then they
should be able to go to the web site of the manufacturer of the
motherboard and download them for you, or you can do it yourself.
Also, when Windows was installed, whoever installed it may have opted
out of installing sound card drivers for whatever unknown reason.
Bottom line, there are many suspects here, probably all of which you
will have to research and run down and possibly try before you find
the correct set.

Hi Alex,

Not yet, in order to do this properly you have to find out what sound card
is in here. We'll start with the program that presents your specs then we'll
know exactly which drivers to get.

 Hi alex,

If it's a legacy sound card, creative labs has those types of drivers I
believe. If this pc is custom built, get in contact with your designer and
ask them to giove you the specs for the sound card then we can go from
there. There are programs out there that will give you your computers
specifications. Once you get the soundcard issue resolved and windows
updated, I can hook you up with the program that will give you your
computers specs and profile. Hope this helps.

Re: Where can I find drivers for my soundcard? I don't have them.

2007-09-27 Thread Cornell Ligon

Hi,
Crucial.com has a scanner that goes through your machine to check for memory
compatibility. When I ran mine through to see how much it would cost for
additional memory, the results gave me my video card type and memory, mother
board type, memory type and audio card type.

Just go to their site as noted above, skim through the homepage and allow it
to scan your system. That will avoid having to go into the box itself and
allow you to go to the homepage of the audio card to seek drivers.
Alternatively, it may be listed under hardware section of My Computer
properties and you can locate it and update drivers that way as well.

Best Regards,
Cornell

 Hi,
Not sure on this one, what does your sound card say on it, it's
manufacture and model number? If windows doesn't recognize it it won't
 be
 showing correct hardware information.
 Dave.

I had a PC custom built without any hardware CDs. I instaled windows but
I
need to find the soundcard drivers.
Because windows doesn't yet recognize it all i know is
windows says it was made by Legacy.
 Any help? Please!

As I said, although I can not visualize GUIs I can have the people around me
read the screan, just they dont understand everything and get frustrated but
if you have a program that will give you the info I think they can do that.
