you could use either
1. gold wave
2 mp3 clip
both of them work great but goldwave is much quicker and you can do more 
with it.
you can find the mp3 clip on the jfwlite home page under programs
http://www.jfwlite.com
also there is a link for the goldwave page where you can try out a demo.

Splitting large mp3 files.

Hello,

I got in on this rather late.  I specifically want to split large mp3 files
at user designated points, not just to break them apart so as to fit the
attachment size limits imposed by internet service providers.

Of the various programs mentioned previously, which works best for this and
is it also the most accessible using speech?  Thanks.
