hello friends, i am still having problems with my windows media player, when i
go to play something it starts to play ok, then while it's playing i get a
message saying windows media guide i have to press escape to stop it, why is
it doing this? also, i was told to use f7 and f8 for decreasing
it should be f9 and f10 for volume control

This depends upon which version of Windows Media is being used; if it's
Windows Media 11, the volume controls are F8 and F9 (F7 mutes..HTH!

Every since I downloaded and installed winamp I am having the following
problem. Whenever internet explorer tries and open an windows media player
file for example, .asx. Explorer will prompt me to download the file instead
of windows media player automatically opening and playing
Hi all, I have a problem with windows media player now, in that now,
when I press enter on any windows media player link, it wants to
install smart media juke box, and I don't want this, I just want to
hear streams with windows media player, so, how do I get windows media
player to come up again?
I have my program set up to where roxio audio central opens up my files when
I insert a cd, but also windows media player plays the music at the same
time. I need to get rid of this problem.

Mine isn't a lot different from some I've seen on this list in the past day
or two. I'm running the latest version of Media Player -- 9 point whatever.
And I'm aware that F9 and F10 are the function keys that lower and raise
volume respectively.
When I attempt such adjustments,
