I'm cc'ing pd-dev so others may benefit from this. There is nothing
magic about the files in Cygwin and MSYS, they are all on the same
file system. The problem is each system has its own root path:
* in Windows, its C:\
* in Cygwin, its /cygdrive/c
* in MSYS, its /c
