though i like the appearance of the new font somehow, i clearly vote for
the (b)old font (and my girlfriend does vote for it as well, so we have
two votes from here).
it is far more readable than the normal font. personally, i care more
about the readability of the objects than of the text
I also vote for bold:

if this applies to comments, object names or everything,
anyway - I hope we will keep at least one large/heavyweight

btw: the font in the menues and dialog boxes including the file

any way to change this?

hi all
For few days I have been working on this external set of patches that
creates a layer over Gem to manipulate video. It is thought to be used
by people that dont know but very basic PD. So be aware that it is very
simple. This is just a first usable sketch we hope to improve later.
I vote for normal.
no, joking I already voted. I just want to add, that even if the font
should look the same on different OS, I don't think the font really
looks the same because of different anti-aliasing.
maybe that's the reason why some people want to stay with bold?
I attach a screenshot
Hi,
I need some guidance in using the soundfiler, writesf~ and readsf~ objects.
How can I read a recorded wave file ?
How can I set the path for the file?
I need to use some recording that I made to be loaded in Pd for further
computation and then after some manipulations stored by Pd on the

Very nice undertaking! I'm really appreciating Pd video players of
late, since I'm working a lot more with video and GEM.
But here is a suggestion: please reference your files using the
namespace conventions a la [ehu/cam] etc. This makes it easier to use

Yes I have tried it through the help files but the problem is that the path
to search/load the wave file is not picked by the file.
I have tried to put in the paths but it still gives error such as

Please tell me the right way to put in

You can use the absolute path /home/taniah/sound/bell.aiff as a
message sent directly to soundfiler.
You can use the openpanel object to search for the file.
You could use some of the various externals for creating and merging
symbols to combine file names and directory paths (prepend,

Bold is just too heavy and space-filling for normal use. The ability to
switch to bold (or even designate certain comments as boldface) seems
much more logical, captain.

hi list
i hope i don`t spam
recently i started myspace profile
www.myspace.com/mananasoko
electroacoustic/improv
violin+voice+pd programing
all the tracks are taken live
all electronics done with pd
violin looped with akai headrush
no editing or post-processing
some tracks with vocals are on
i would say the user should be able to choose what ever font she/he
wants, like in every other program...
but for the default, i would vote bold for objects/messages etc. and
normal for comments.

It would be pretty easy to modify this to have a separate C (curve)
parameter for attack and decay/release (or even separate C's for decay
and release as well, if one were so inclined). I considered doing this,
but didn't do it for the selfish reason that my envelope UI's are
