Maybe a bit obvious, but i consider clip~ as a good object for distortion.

The thing is that the RasPi foundation is licensing the design to other
vendors that (will) produce the device themselves.
Currently everything is still just in a start-up phase. The hype is a
Hello,
multiplying by Chebyshev polynomials for clipping gives nice distortion

Indeed, it's not just the device but the whole principle going further.
There are interesting parallels between the OLPC and R-Pi

So, in short, pd doesn't work with jackd2?
Is there a plan to fix this in a near future?
how's that related to this thread and how do you come to said conclusion?

distortion is a very wide definition -

it can be made with a specific external, or just with a [*~], going
through a nice transfer function...
you might be better off asking people for distortion patches, but that
depends what the goals of your
tanh is a popular transfer function, as is cos, both of which
approximate to linear for small signals but change for larger
ones. Also check out using polynomials as transfers, some have
very particular properties as to how they change the harmonics.

Hi,
further to this - DMX off Pd is something we were talking about for the
lighting for the next Pd mini-Con.
Which of these Enttec boxes is suitable?

A DMX box which would let you control DMX over a OSC Protocol via an Ethernet
connection would be nice. But that doesn't exist yet, doesn't it?
A quick search reveals: http://www.lightjams.com/osc.html but that is a
software solution, so you still need the USB-DMX interface and the software
Rich,
Of those you listed, the only one I have tested is this:

And it worked just fine (which is why I didn't test others).

yes and i just found http://www.kissbox.nl too.
The almost cheapest strobe lights use a 12V trigger (absolute cheapest
strobes have no input control). What has gone wrong with computers that
makes such a thing so difficult? You can use a serial port to trigger
thestrobe.
