Looking at this now. I notice that _pipe in windows even allows you to
specify buffer size which linux and MacOS don't. It might be a major
advantage.
OTOH the major hassle is figuring out how to create and manage the
sub-process

So if it was just put in ascii mode would this make it possible to have the
pd~ object in windows?
Thanks,

Oops, that was a bug that I reintroduced during some code cleanup. I
have fixed it in git with commit cee81ff:

This is great, I'm happy to see you working on it more. I'm also looking to
working with more data sources. I've played around with it a little, and am
getting a crash running on Mac OS X 10.6.8/64-bit. I open the
rest-json-help.pd and add a [json-decode] to the bottom of the [rest-json]
I made a 32-bit Mac OS X build, try it here:

Is there a working version of pd for windows 7? i read about some problems
some of you were having, or would it be a better idea to run linux (i've
also been told pd works better in this environment). ubuntu or linux studio,
right?

We are lacking Pd developers who use Windows, so the Windows side of
things is not always well supported. If anyone knows some basic
windows programming and wants to take it on, we can help them get up
to speed on the Pd side of things. I currently only have access to a
WinXP box
Makes more sense, yes, but an example patch would be very helpful.
Could you post one to the bugtracker?

It sounds to me like there are font/type problems on Windows. Do you
have any screenshots? A bug report would be useful too, with as much
detail as possible,

Hi Hans list,
I used the last release (0.40.3) of pd-extended last week on a windows XP.
Sometimes, the typos are totally messed up :
I figured out that this was due to the use of different police size in
the main patch and in abstractions.
The bug happens only when you open an abstraction
