Hi Pat,
it's unintuitive, but the pyext object needs py to be loaded first, e.g. by
explicit loading (startup argument -lib py) or by creating py, or by using
[import].

try this:
- download and install python for windows:
http://www.python.org/ftp/python/2.6.6/python-2.6.6.msi
- Copy pthread.dll in your C:\Program Files\pd\bin\ folder
- Copy py.dll in your C:\Program Files\pd\extra\ folder
