The stream has been running fine as far as i can tell. I've had a go at adding a flash player to the site but it doesn't seem to work so well. generally I listen to it using VLC which works fine. The patches are just randomly chosen by the python script. so not really truly random, but random

aahhh i see, Indeed it is just a matter of having the meta data updated every time a new patch is loaded, this used to happen but i found i was having issues with the python control script dieing when it was updated. i turned it off and have meant to come back and look at it but just not gotten
