Alternatively you could make your filter look for list-id in '"List-

Re: [PD] call for testing on the nightly builds!

2008-05-12 Thread Rich E
I just tried installing
Pd-0.40.3-extended-20080512-ubuntu-hardy-i386.deb<http://autobuild.puredata.info/auto-build/latest/Pd-0.40.3-extended-20080512-ubuntu-hardy-i386.deb>on
a fresh install of Ubuntu Hardy, running the rt kernel. Well, almost
fresh; I installed all the packages for compiling Ardour 3.0, which includes
the latest jack stuff.

Not good results; pd terminates immediately as fallows:

Personally I filter by "List-Id:" but currently this is referring to
"PureData" which also is incorrect (at least according to the FAQ-item
I just added: http://puredata.info/docs/faq/pdspelling)

Maybe you want to change that as well while you're at it - with an

hmm, the [wiimote] object i use returns all the values i asked it for

Hi Iohannes,
yes, now it is working. I installed avifile-dev, as well as
libquicktime-devel, and it is now able to read both the .avi and .mov files.

Now I can start play for real :-)

Here's attacched the output of the configure.
I had to uninstall libmpeg3-devel because it was giving a file not found
for libmpeg3.h.

correct.
you have to have libavifile-dev (here it is: libavifile-0.7-dev; it
might be something like avifile-devel on a fedora machine) installed at
configure-/compile-/run-time.

Gem's configure will automatically detect the presence of this library
and use it at compilation time.

If nature has made any one thing less susceptible than all others of
exclusive property, it is the action of the thinking power called an
idea, which an individual may exclusively possess as long as he keeps
it to himself; but the moment it is divulged, it forces itself into
the possession of everyone, and the receiver cannot dispossess
himself of it.- Thomas Jefferson

correct.
you have to have libavifile-dev (here it is: libavifile-0.7-dev; it
might be something like avifile-devel on a fedora machine) installed at
configure-/compile-/run-time.

Gem's configure will automatically detect the presence of this library
and use it at compilation time.

hmm, the [wiimote] object i use returns all the values i asked it for
(buttons, all accelerations, 4 IR-blobs; everything at the same time)
are you talking about [aka.wiiremote], or about [wiimote] not being able
to access several wiiremote-devices, or about some osx speciality of any
or one of these two externals (which one?)?

oh, that's getting more complicated than it should:
it seems like the fftease you are trying to run is the backport done by
thomas grill using flext.
i was rather referring to eric's original objects (the link you have
posted) which are now (for some time) available for Pd anyhow, so no
need to use the reverse-engineered(?) objects by thomas.

if you use eric's fftease-library, the help-files should work:-)

See /trunk/doc/additional/pd-msg/ of the SVN repo at SF.
Those tut/docs are also shipped with Pd-extended.
Not that this so-called "dynamic patching" is doable but unsupported.
