[PD] question about propertybang

2009-04-28 Thread Jonathan Wilkes

When using [propertybang] from iemguts in an abstraction, I notice
that properties for other abstractions (and subpatches) become
disabled, even if I close the patch with the [propertybang] in it.
Only quitting and restarting pd resolves it.

I'm on windows xp. Does this behavior happen on other os's?

Thanks,
Jonathan

[PD] [PD-announce] Workshop spatial acoustics simulation with Georg Holzmann in Halle/Germany

2009-04-28 Thread Max

ENGLISH: Workshop announcment spatial acoustics simulation in Pure data

GERMAN:
Georg Holzmann (DE): Raumklangsimulation mit Pure data
5.6.2009 14 UHR - 7.6.2009 16 UHR

in Halle (Saale), statt.

2009-04-28 Thread servando barreiro

HEllo!

I´m trying to combine two video layers using chroma key but before, I would
like to change the position & rotation of one of the layers without altering
the other...

Is this possible?

[PD] Array Animations...

2009-04-28 Thread Simon Ball
Hi there, I sent this the other day and I'm not sure if it got through,
apologies if it's a duplicate...

Hi list

I'm trying to understand how tables/arrays work with animations. As far as I
can see, I can place a set of coordinates in a text file and then use an
array to animate elements in gem space. I have been looking at various
examples, notably [splinepath], which uses [line] to govern the length and
speed of the movement. However, I'm struggling to understand the exact
relationship between the co-ordinates written in the text file and what
actually happens to an image when rendered. Sometimes I change the numbers
and the animation stays the same, other times it appears erratic.

I've found documentation on how to transform objects in gem, but there seems
to be little help in terms of creating more complex animations. If anyone
can provide a simple explanation/some pointers or show me where to look, I
would very much appreciate it.

Mac OSX Intel Core Duo 10.4.11. PD-Extended 0.40.3.

Thanks
Simon

not really, but maybe you need to know the errors I get?

well, if you want more than a generic answer: yes :-)

are there any other errors you get?

I don't think so..

it's simple: if you want text, you need it; else you don't...

I always heve these 78 errors... and the build failed

obviously, since they are "errors" (not "warnings")

Re: [PD] Troubles using Alesis Photon X25 as AUDIO output

2009-04-28 Thread João Pais

again, thanks for your hand!

if someone else can figure it out how to make my photon work as audio
output or what could be this noise please reply.

what kind of noise is it exactly? some (or lots) of extra clicks, but the
sound is there? if so, it should be the buffer setting, as someone already
said. you set that up in the card software / properties, outside of pd.

try setting the buffer + latency (in pd) at high values, and then going
down until it still sounds good. do it separately, maybe. or together.

just in the case that it is related, here is a message that pd returns
when setting the photon as midi in:
"Warning: midi input is dangerous in Microsoft Windows\; see Pd manual)"

I don't know what that message means, it was there all the time and I
never had problems with midi. maybe it's there to make fun of people who
use windows instead of unix.
