think about using a non-outdated version of Gem.
(Gem has very long release cycles; usually it takes more than a year to
increment the version number; 0.92 has been out for about a year now)

Hi list!
I'm experiencing a very annoying problem in my PD class. Many students have
snow leopard installed and when we try to create a pix_video object
pdextended crash. I tried with 0.42 and 0.41... it's the same.
Runnig Pd from a terminal this is the error:

you need to look into
/Library/QuickTime
and
~/Library/QuickTime
and remove the conflicting codecs from these folders.
(for example putting them into /Library/QuickTime_decativated/)

The Digital Voodoo is a PCI based capture card that has not been made in
years. The reason there is no image found is that the product predates the
move to Intel CPUs. Delete the plugin.
Also, file a big with Apple on this. This should throw an error at worst,
but certainly not crash the app.
Thanks guys just what I was looking for;-)

/home/camilocadavid/Library/Pd/Contents/Resources/doc/examples/Gem/data/venus.obj
if you don't put the slash, the openfile command will look for a folder called
'camilocadavid' from all pd registered folders
