[PD] [OT] Going to Tokyo - PD Media Art Scene

2013-02-11 Thread Leandro da Mota Damasceno
Hi all!

So, I'm going to Tokyo next week to present at the 100th Pecha Kucha Night.

I've never been to Japan before and I'm looking forward to get to know the
PD and Media Art scene while I'm there - from feb 18th to march 2nd.

So, I would love to get to know people from the PD community in Tokyo,
visit media labs and hackerspaces if there are any.

Any suggestions?

That's a bummer, but I don't think this story is over, so leave the wiki. I
think that Jack on Windows is relatively new, so its going to have little
problems. And through contributions like yours, it will get better.

For example, I included the jack for windows stuff in pd-extended 0.44, so the
nightly builds should include it starting tomorrow:

It would be nice to have some patches to apply into pd-extended

I've never looked at those patches because I've never really used

iemguts does not seek to compete with other objects. instead it mainly
aims to provide low-level access to the patching system.

i think you are mistaking [canvasname] for some user-driven feature of
pd-l2ork. you might be able to implement such a feature with
[canvasname], but it's not already the implementation.
(and actually i think that it is not very good at implementing this
very feature...)

in practice, i've been using this object to implement an automatic
version control system for patching.

Hello Patrick,

I guess you opened a patch with Gem content inside ?
Is it possible to get it on this list ?
This message can come from different problem on different system/driver.

Maybe a problem of graphic card/driver.
What is your configuration on your Windows (graphic card ?).
Your graphic card driver is up to date ?

 the advantage over what?
iemguts does not seek to compete with other objects. instead it mainly
aims to provide low-level access to the patching system.

Seems to me that the only reason it exists is because having
multiple instances of same abstractions makes it difficult to
differentiate between them, which in case of pd-l2ork's
  preset_hub/preset_name is completely a non-issue.

i think you are mistaking [canvasname] for some user-driven feature of
pd-l2ork. you might be able to implement such a feature with
[canvasname], but it's not already the implementation.
(and actually i think that it is not very good at implementing this
 very feature...)

in practice, i've been using this object to implement an automatic
 version control system for patching.

And I use [f]x[+ 1] to count numbers, but I think we've covered the current
possibilities for the OP to retrieve the patch directory and patch name.

[PD] OT: vloopback

2013-02-11 Thread Pagano, Patrick
Hi

I know this is kind of OT, but I am interested if people are successfully using
vloopback on linux with pure data and lpmt or any other applications
I would like to use it with Veejay, Pd and lpmt but I am having a few issues
with setting it up

Whati would like to do is take video OUT of Veejay and into pure data and then
use lpmt to map it.

[PD] pdp_artoolkit

2013-02-11 Thread Pagano, Patrick
Has anyone got this to work?
I have tried many source trees of ARToolkitPlus and I cannot seem to get the
configure in the CVS of pidip to see ANY of them

./configure -with-artkp= does not seem to find it.
Have you got it to compile? Where and which version of the artkp sources are
you using?

Thanks

Yep. It should be in the next pd-l2ork release.

vloopback is rather dead since v4l1 has been removed from the kernel.
i think that v4l2loopback[1] works great with Gem, gstreamer, ...
