i tried this beta on the arduino mega with a servo - again same
result: pwm works but
switching output mode to 'servo' i get no signal on pins 9+10.
i`ll have the mega at hand these days & should hang around in the
#dataflow channel so let me know whenever there`s some testing to be
done.

hm i thought i went thru this procedure though a 2.service verified
the opposite... sorry for the wind.
anyway now its working almost perfect: nice linear analog input &
servo on ev'ry pin - that's topfenpalatschinken!!
i confirm this on diecimila with 168, duemilanueve with atmega328 &
arduino mega
only on the mega there still some mixup on the digitalOut Pins: led 13
lights up by checkboxing the digitalOut_15 in arduino-test and on
checkboxing digitalOut_13 pin_11 gets high.

the server space & the maintenance is currently done by claudio the

so far he's been trying to maintain it as much as possible - sometimes
certain request take more time - queuing up on other things that need
to be done. but so far ev'rything should be on the line. recently
php-admin was installed for user management & should be up &
functional. the spam issue we've discussed on the list & i got the
consensus to clean up the mess by hand.
So if there's any lack regarding the hosting or enhancements please
let me know & i'll forward it.

[PD] webcam color switch problem

2009-06-09 Thread olsen wolf
Hi there
i've a problem with the color settings of my logitech webcam running
in ubuntu 9.04.
in gem the camera is running fine although i've to set export
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so.
in pdp or in camstream the camera switches the color from blue to red
- i tried working around this by puting the following line in my
/etc/modprobe.d/options file: options gspca force_rgb=1
but no success.
anyone else experienced this problem?
thanks for any hints

Re: [PD] multiple platform usb video capture cards (again)

2007-09-05 Thread olsen wolf
Hi emanuel
interesting issue!
about 1/2 year ago i had some not really succesfull experimentation
goin with the
Pinnacle PCTV USB2 as it uses a bt878 chip and i could borrow it from
a friend. the driver was initialized but i only got a black screen
(using camstream) - due to my research the driver was broken
&
win usb - only b&w picture
all this on a ubuntu feisty machine
remembering the win usb worked 3-4 jears ago on a debian desktop.
i've a pci card with Brooktree (Bt878) chipsets running (also
connexant chipsets should work) they're cheap ~80$ but i gues you're
looking for a usb version?!

olsen

Hi Hans
very nice! & Servo_Firmata is working like a charm, with
Analog_Firmata the servo turn's alittle whacky - might be due to the
servos specs?!
what's a potential use of the string stuff?

Re: [PD] [PD-announce] Gem-0.91.0 released

hi
i just downloaded the gem-0.91. unfortunately onmake i'll get this error:
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -ldts
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: *** [Gem.pd_linux] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/olsen/pd/extra/gem-0.91.0/src'
make: *** [current] Error 2

this was present also in this thread:
http://lists.puredata.info/pipermail/gem-dev/2007-12/003217.html
following the workaround by removing the -ldts flag in Make.config helps

If you're using the fglrx driver & X11 is crashing on opening GEM
patches, you need to set the environmental variable of
GEM_SINGLE_CONTEXT=1 by adding the following to your ~/.bashrc or
/etc/profile:
export GEM_SINGLE_CONTEXT=1

[PD] wiimote undefined symbol with pd-extended 0.40.3

2008-08-15 Thread olsen wolf

unfortunately i get an undefined symbol on [import wiimote]

/usr/local/lib/pd-externals/wiimote.pd_linux: undefined symbol:
cwiid_close
error: [import]: ERROR: can't load library in 'wiimote'
... you might be able to track this down from the Find menu.
[import] $Revision: 1.2 $
WARNING! this is alpha, the interface could change!
compiled against Pd version 0.40.3

i'm using wiimote 0.6.00 from:
http://mikewoz.com/downloads/wiimote_0.6.00.tar.gz
any clue what's undefining this symbol?
thanks

2008-08-15 Thread olsen wolf
hm this error was due to double trouble caused by installed
cwiid-0.6.00 from the wiimote source & the debian.
i remove the libcwiid packages as
apt-file search cwiid_internal.h
gives me no output & as line 35 of wiimote.c needs to know the
location of cwiid_internal.h i installed cwiid-0.6.00 coming with
wiimote_0.6.00.tar.gz & it works - anyway to keep it short - sorry for
the wind!

Write error, maybe TX-OVERRUNS on serial line
[comport] write returned -1, errno is 11
Write error, maybe TX-OVERRUNS on serial line
[comport] write returned -1, errno is 11
.
the message [devicename /dev/ttyUSB0] to the [arduino] establishs a
succesful connection without errör. i couldn't locate the difference
but strangely enough with beta0 it works.
this is on 2 different machines both using Pd version 0.40.3-extended
with standard Firmata0.4beta3.

2007-10-01 Thread olsen wolf
jep while crowning patrick as the h.e.r.o. of the day - pyext is
running between the 0 and 1!
with patricks advice: use this version with python 2.4:
http://www.parasitaere-kapazitaeten.net/ext/py/py-0.2.0-pd.tgz
& fela kuti in the back this is what i did:

flext 0.5.0 download from http://www.parasitaere-kapazitaeten.net/ext/ & built:
bash grill/flext/build.sh pd gcc
edit buildsys/config-lnx-pd-gcc.txt to point to pd/src:
# where is the PD source package?
# (this should point to the main folder, which has a "src" subfolder)
PDPATH=/home/olsen/pd/pd-0.39-2

###

# prefix for flext installation
# headers are in $(FLEXTPREFIX)/include/flext
# libraries are in $(FLEXTPREFIX)/lib
# build system is in $(FLEXTPREFIX)/lib/flext

FLEXTPREFIX=/usr/local

###

# where should the external be built?
OUTPATH=pd-linux

# where should the external be installed?
INSTPATH=/usr/local/lib/pd/extra

###

# user defined compiler flags
# (check if they match your system!)
UFLAGS=-msse -mfpmath=sse -ffast-math

# user defined optimization flags
# (check if they match your system!)
OFLAGS=-O3
# optimizations for Pentium 4
OFLAGS+=-march=pentium4

then:
bash grill/flext/build.sh pd gcc
bash grill/flext/build.sh pd gcc install
ldconfig -v | grep flext (you should see libflext)
if no libflext shows up
vim /etc/ld.so.conf
& add /usr/local/lib
&
vim /etc/ld.so.conf.d/i486-linux-gnu
& add /usr/local/lib
then

cd grill/py
sh ../flext/build.sh pd gcc
edit config.txt for telling py/ext to use python 2.4:
# what is the base prefix of the Python installation?
PYTHONPREFIX=/usr

# which Python version do you want to compile against?
PYTHONVERSION=2.4

sh ../flext/build.sh pd gcc
sh ../flext/build.sh pd gcc install

this works on ubuntu 7.04
python2.4-dev package should be onboard

[PD] strange pdp_v4l behavior on pd-extended

2007-10-11 Thread olsen wolf
hi boys&girls
my webcam shows very weird pictures with the v4l on pd-extended in
combination with ubuntustudio. half of the images are like distorted
scanlines & the other half random noise. as it was an old extended
version i upgraded to Pd-0.39.3-extended-rc5 but still same output
though in camstream i get a clean image.
i might blame it on ubuntustudio feisty as on my laptop(kubuntu
feisty) its running fine?!

[PD] pyext crashes on pd startup

2007-10-21 Thread olsen wolf
buenas
on a feisty ubuntustudio i installed pyext - no nagging during
installation but as soon as i start pd with -lib py -path -path
/home/olsen/pd/extra/grill/py/scripts it crashes with
Pd: signal 4 - without pyext works flawlessly.
i tried it with Pd-0.39.3-extended-ubuntu-feisty-i386.deb &
Pd-0.40.3-extended-20071020-ubuntu-feisty-i386.ded
& py-0.2.0-pd.tgz
pyext is using python 2.4 - strangely enough same settings on my
laptop (kubuntu feisty)works...
any hint welcome
thanks
olsen

generating ./config.make
generating config.h
See ./config.log if you want the details of the configuration tests.
If you are satisfied with that configuration, you may go on,
and do "make". "make install" is not needed anymore,
just move your gridflow directory to "lib/pd/extra".
If you get stuck, you could contact the author about it,
but first make sure you read "doc/install.html".

Re: [PD] gridflow #record

2008-01-11 Thread olsen wolf
unfortunately on a new installation of gridflow i end up with the "i
don't wanna be famous" Pd: signal 4 trying to record. so i'm not
getting beyond step1 of romans cue. as soon as i give a message for
the framerate pd process exited.
i tried this is on an actual cvs version on an uptodate kubuntu 7.10
using the #record-help.pd patch
how can [#out quicktime] be created?
thanks for help & hints
