while trying to replicate
http://www.gearfuse.com/gearfuse-originals-video-midi-mixer-using-pure-data/
i run into the same error upon trying to load a file:
MPEG3: unsupported!
error: GEM: pix_film: Unable to open file: /home/xxx/example.flv
Same goes for .avi.
what gives?
i'd like to use some of the following:
http://zwizwa.be/pd/
however the default path that make and make install refer to are
/usr/local/lib/pd/
now i dont have any such folders - how do i modify this?

get the current gem svn with:
svn co https://pd-gem.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/pd-gem pd-gem
then change to the src directory:
cd /pd-gem/trunk/Gem/src
check
as there is more gem knowledge around!
