[PD] use LADSPA plugins under Mac OS X (pd-extended, plugin~)

2009-06-12 Thread Rua Haszard Morris
Hi - I am trying to use LADSPA plugins within Pd and am having a tough time... attached is an example patch I am trying to get to work. It's simply a mono noise source through a comb filter. The particular plugin is the SWH comb filter (http://plugin.org.uk/ladspa-swh/docs/ladspa-swh.html).

Yep, I agree, I think midiout is not working on linux and possibly windows too. I did see it working on Mac. On linux I was using alsa midi, but just soft out (via jack) into a softsynth. Here's a mail to the list about it. http://lists.puredata.info/pipermail/pd-list/2008-11/066180.html

[PD] how to send named commands/arguments to an abstraction?

2008-11-22 Thread Rua Haszard Morris
I am having fun making an abstraction. I want it to be able to respond to messages/commands in a similar way to externals. For example, imagine an abstraction that has 1 inlet, and if it gets (from the parent patch) file filename.mid then it reads that file, or if it gets bpm 120 it sets the

[Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not too sure about this but] I think the USB-HID device is a lot faster/more responsive than the USB-serial interface used on Arduino. The advantage I see is that it's cheap, easy to build/understand, relatively responsive, and the you don't have to write or get a
